March 30, 2015 To Whom It May Concern: It is a pleasure to write this recommendation for Melinda McBratney. As Melinda’s supervising teacher, I have witnessed her professionalism and natural instincts as an educator. She is able to work with a variety of students and help them make achievements in their individual goal areas. Melinda has been a practicum student in my classroom for the last three years and is now a student teacher in my classroom. She quickly gained the respect of staff, and students and made efforts to get to know the students academically, as well as, socially. She has incorporated her knowledge of student interests to present engaging and interesting lessons that also take into account the student’s academic level. Through her practicum and student teaching Melinda has asked engaging question that help her grow as an educator and show she possess a growth mindset. Melinda has all of the qualities and characteristics needed to work in a diverse classroom setting. Flexibility is a great strength and Melinda transitions easily between a variety of grade levels, academic areas, and behavioral needs. Daily, we are presented with new challenges that require flexibility and quick responsiveness in adapting to the unique situations that present themselves. Melinda is an outstanding colleague and educator. She is a successful, well-rounded individual and serves as an excellent role model for others. Melinda receives my highest recommendation. Sincerely, Amy Llewellyn
