    CREDIT: BANKS

    Barclays has reshuffled its Leveraged Finance & Financial Sponsor Coverage leadership team. Two new Chmn have been appointed: Chris Turner, formerly Head of Leveraged Finance & Financial Sponsor Coverage – EMEA, has relocated to New York to become Chmn of Global Leveraged Finance, and Ken McGrath, formerly Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage – EMEA, has been named Chmn of Financial Sponsor Coverage – EMEA. Susana Leith-Smith, previously Head of the TMT Leveraged Finance vertical, has taken over the reins as Head of Leveraged Finance – EMEA, and Andrew Richards has taken over as Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage – EMEA. Turner will report to Jean-Francois Astier, Global Head of Capital Markets. Leith-Smith will report to Astier and Reid Marsh, Head of Banking for EMEA & APAC. McGrath & Richards will report to Marsh and Chris Sullivan, Global Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage.

    Alejandra Olarra Icaza has changed position internally at Credit Suisse and is now a member of the Financial Sponsor Coverage team and responsible for covering the Spanish market.

    Lola Gonzales de Castejon an ED at Goldman Sachs, and previously a member of the Bank Debt Portfolio Group, has joined the Special Assets Group that sits within the Global Markets division.

    Ankur Vohra has joined Goldman Sachs’ Leveraged Finance team as an ED. Vohra previously worked at Credit Suisse as a VP in the Financial Sponsor Coverage team.

    Hugh Upcott Gill and Luis Leoncarsi have left Citi’s EMEA CLO division to join former Loan Syndicate Head Laura Coady in setting up a primary CLO operation at Jefferies.

    Jefferies has also hired Matthew Slaughter as an MD in its New York based Financial Sponsor Coverage team. Slaughter joins from Ares, where he was an MD in the New York based Private Debt team. Prior to joining Ares in 2018, he was an MD in the Financial Sponsor Coverage team at Morgan Stanley in New York.

    J.P. Morgan has made several changes to its global investment banking business, including new appointments within its EMEA business [details of these moves can be found in the Investment Banking section of our newsletter]. On the credit side, Ben Thompson has been promoted to Head of Leveraged Capital Markets – EMEA.

    Damien Hedderwick has joined Macquarie’s EMEA Leveraged Finance team led by Camelia Robu who joined the business last year from HSBC. Hedderwick was most recently an ED in the Leveraged Finance team at UBS.

    Morgan Stanley has hired Niklas Karlsson as a VP. He will be based in Stockholm. Karlsson joins from Evercore, where he was a VP in the London based Restructuring team.

    Morgan Stanley has also hired Alessandro Mazza as an MD in their Leveraged Finance team. Mazza joins from Credit Suisse, where he was latterly a newly promoted MD in the Capital Markets team.

    Tommaso Dondi has also joined Morgan Stanley’s Leveraged Finance team as an ED after more than twelve years at J.P. Morgan.

    Poppy Russell has joined NatWest as a Senior Director. Russell was previously a Senior Director in the Restructuring team at Alvarez & Marsal.

    Santander has promoted Conor Hennebry from Head of European DCM and Syndicated Lending to Global Head of DCM. Hennebry originally joined Santander in 2018 after eleven years at Deutsche Bank. Hennebry will be reporting to Rafael Noya who was recently appointed as Head of Global Debt Finance. Noya replaces Ignacio Domínguez-Adame, who was promoted to CEO of Santander CIB – Iberia earlier this year.

  • SC Lowy, a privately-owned global banking and asset management group, has hired Richie Revill in London as its new Head of Markets for Europe. Revill, with almost thirty years’ experience in the European credit market, joined from Barclays, where he was latterly an MD in the EMEA Distressed & Special Situations team.

    Carlo Fontana, who has been Head of Non-Investment Grade & High Yield Syndicate at UniCredit since 2019, replaces Tim Hoffmeister as Global Head of Debt Syndicate, following Hoffmeister’s recent departure. Fontana will report to Luca Falco. Makram Nadda, an MD in the Non-Investment Grade Syndicate team, has been promoted to Fontana’s old position.

    Aegon Asset Management has appointed Russ Morrison as Global CIO for Fixed Income. Morrison will be responsible for overseeing Aegon’s €170bn Fixed Income platform, leading 140 investment professionals globally. He will be based in Chicago and report to CEO Bas NieuweWeme. Previously, Morrison was an Executive MD at Barings; latterly serving as a management consultant to the firm after having spent 15 years in various roles, including Head of Global Fixed Income and Head of US High Yield at the firm.

    Aegon Asset Management has also expanded its Netherlands based Alternative Fixed Income team led by Frank Meijer with the hires of four fund managers: Philip van der Meijden, George Konings, Mickey Teunissen and George Nijborg. Van der Meijden joins the team as an Investment Manager focusing on residential mortgages and Co-Manager of the Aegon Dutch Mortgage Strategies. He previously worked as a Portfolio Manager at Arrow Global. Konings and Teunissen join as Investment Managers and Co-Managers of the Aegon SME Loan Strategy, focusing on buy-out and growth financings for SMEs and small mid-caps. Prior to joining Aegon, both worked at Rabobank as ADs; Konings in Leveraged Capital Markets & Capital Structuring and Teunissen in the Mid-Cap Leveraged Finance team. Nijborg joins as Co-Manager of the Corporate Private Placement strategy with additional responsibility for insurance wrapped transactions. Nijborg was previously an ED in the London based DCM team at Goldman Sachs.

    Albermarle Asset Management has hired Massimo Massimilla as a Partner and CIO of Alternative Strategies. Massimilla was most recently CEO of Italy and Head of NPL Strategy at Algebris Investments.

    Angelo Gordon hired Jacob Gladstone as an MD focusing on Distressed & Corporate Special Situations in New York. Gladstone joins from GSO Capital

    Partners, where he was a Principal in the New York based Distressed & Special Situations team.

    Benjamin Schall has joined Apera Asset Management’s Munich office as a Principal focusing on private capital solutions for the lower mid-market in the DACH region. Schall previously worked in the Munich based Financial Sponsor Solutions team at UniCredit.

    Apollo Global Management has hired Rina Joshi as an MD in its New York based Global Corporate Credit team focused on Distressed Investments. Joshi joins from PointState Capital where she focused on Distressed Debt and Special Situations.

    Arcmont Asset Management has hired Jatinder Singh as its CTO from Hayfin Capital Management, where he was also CTO and Partner. Hayfin has hired Andrew Pickard from Provident Financial Group as its new CTO.

    Aztec Group has strengthened its Private Debt leadership team with the appointment of James Vella-Bamber as Group Head of Private Debt, based in Luxembourg. Vella-Bamber, who joined the business in 2016 from State Street Alternative Investment Solutions and was latterly Head of Real Assets at Aztec, will have responsibility for the ongoing development of the firm’s credit offering. The firm has also hired Peter Brown as Head of Private Debt – Luxembourg. Brown joins from RBS, where he was an MD and Head of Funds Banking.

    John Empson has joined BlackRock as an MD and Global Head of Alternatives Co-Investment after leaving KKR’s Capital Markets team last year. As part of BlackRock’s recent decision to combine its Global Capital Markets and Private Capital Markets division into a single platform, BlackRock Capital Markets, Empson will now also act as Head of BlackRock Capital Markets – EMEA. Brent Barry, founding member of BlackRock’s Private Markets team, has been appointed to lead BlackRock Capital Markets globally. Others promoted into new roles as part of this decision include: Ed Cook, who will act as Global Head of Liquid Capital Markets and Corporate Solutions, Mike Dennis, who will become Head of Asia BlackRock Capital Markets and will continue as Head of Alternatives Strategy for APAC, Ben Spielman, who has been named Head of US Liquid Capital Markets, and Kamya Somasundranum, who will return to her role as Head of US Liquid Credit. Michael Lawton has also joined the firm as an MD & Head of US Private Sourcing. He joins from UBS’ New York based Leveraged Capital Markets team.

  • BlackRock has also hired Claire Cullen as a Director and Systematic Fixed Income Product Strategist. Cullen joins from J.P. Morgan, where she was an ED and Investment Specialist in EMEA for the Global Credit Investment platform.

    BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Christophe Montcerisier as Head of Real Estate Debt within its Private Debt & Real Assets investment division, following Philippe Deloffre’s departure to ICG. Montcerisier had been Deputy Head since joining the team in 2019 from Société Générale’s Real Estate M&A team.

    BNY Mellon Investment Management has announced the appointment of Hanneke Smits as its new CEO. Hanneke, the current CEO of Newton Investment Management, will take over the reins from Mitchell Harris who will be retiring on 1st October 2020.

    Bridgepoint has acquired EQT’s credit business and merged it into its existing credit business. The acquisition increases Bridgepoint’s existing credit business to circa €7bn in assets and expands the geographic remit of its credit business into Germany, the US, and the Nordics.

    John Pavelski has joined Carlyle as an MD focusing on Distressed Debt and Special Situations. Formerly, Pavelski was a Managing Partner and Global Head of Private Credit at Brookfield Asset Management, where he led the private special situation investing efforts. He is based in New York.

    Matteo Zampini has joined Castlelake as an Associate. Zampini was previously an Associate in the Leveraged Finance team at Bank of America.

    Karl Bagherzadeh has joined Credit Solutions Partner as a Senior Associate in Munich. Formerly, Bagherzadeh worked in the London based Special Situations team at KKR.

    Cross Ocean Partners has hired Henry Li to join their London office as an Analyst in their Distressed team. Previously, Li was an Investment Professional at Värde Partners working in the Transportation team.

    Fair Oaks Capital has hired Christos Danias as a Principal, based in London. Danias was most recently an MD in the Structured Credit team at StormHarbour Securities.

    Anna Karim has joined Federated Hermes as an Investment Director in its Fixed Income team. Karim was most recently an MD at Bank of America and responsible for building and managing a high-yield sales team and covering all European credit products and the illiquid business for the bank’s largest clients.

    Leo Wouters has joined General Atlantic as a Principal focusing on the Atlantic Park and Capital Solutions business at the firm. Wouters was previously an ED in the EMEA Leveraged Finance team at Morgan Stanley.

    Golub Capital has hired Andy Chediak as an SVP in New York. Chediak was previously a Director in the

  • Special Asset Management team at Barclays in New York focusing on Restructuring and Distressed Debt.

    H.I.G. Whitehorse has hired Rob de Bruin as a Principal in its Direct Lending team, reporting to Appu Mundassery. He will be based in Amsterdam and responsible for originating and executing debt financings with a focus on the Benelux. De Bruin joins from NIBC, where he was an AD in the Amsterdam based Leveraged Finance team.

    ICG’s Real Estate arm has hired Philippe Deloffre and Aisling McCarthy as MDs. Deloffre joins the fund from BNP Paribas Asset Management where he was Head of Real Estate Debt. In his new Paris based role, he will be responsible for leading origination and investment activity in Europe, excluding the UK. McCarthy joins from Coimmvest LLP, the tech-enabled CRE Lending Platform, and in her London based role, will focus on UK, North American and Irish sponsors investing across Europe.

    IK Investment Partners has hired Thierry Aoun as a Director and Head of Capital Markets. He is responsible for new acquisition financing and capital market activities for IK’s portfolio companies. Aoun joins from KKR, where he was a Principal in the Private Credit team. Aoun previously worked in the EMEA Leveraged Finance team at J.P. Morgan.

    Oliver Gill has joined KKR as a Principal. Gill previously worked in the Restructuring & Debt Advisory team at Rothschild & Co.

    Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has hired Travis Murdoch as a Portfolio Manager for UK Active Credit. Murdoch was previously Head of Fixed Income at a family office and prior to that, Portfolio Manager in J.P. Morgan’s Credit Opportunities Fund.

    LGIM Real Assets has created a new private credit leadership team with several senior appointments in Europe. James-Spencer-Jones from Cushman & Wakefield has been named Head of Real Estate Debt in Europe, and Calum Macphail, the Head of Corporate Alternative Debt at LGIM, will take on responsibility for private credit investments in Europe. Will Devenney, Head of Infrastructure Debt, Matt Taylor, Head of Alternative Debt, and Steve Bolton, Head of Corporate Debt, also join the European leadership team, and will report to Macphail.

    Moelis Asset Management has hired Eric Felder as its CEO, based in New York. Felder was formerly the Head of Credit at Citadel.

    Nearwater Capital, a Speciality Finance firm, has hired Jonathan Kitei as a Senior MD and its new Head

    of Risk Retention Financing, based in New York. Kitei joins the firm from Barclays, where he was latterly an MD & Head of Securitised Products Distribution & Global CLO Distribution, also based in New York.

    Onex Credit has hired Jason New as its new Co-CEO. He will run the business together with Stuart Kovensky, and will also have responsibility for new strategies in opportunistic credit and special situations. New joins the firm from Blackstone, where he was a Senior MD and Co-Head of Distressed & Special Situation Investing for GSO Capital Partners.

    Owl Rock Capital has hired Jesse Huff, formerly an MD at Oaktree Capital Management in London, as Co-Head of Opportunistic Credit, based in New York. Huff will Co-Head the team alongside Nicole Drapkin, who takes on the new role after playing a key part in building Owl Rock since its inception in 2015.

    Owl Rock Capital has also recently hired Brian Finkelstein as an MD to lead the firm’s workout efforts in New York. Finkelstein joins from SOLIC Capital, a boutique restructuring advisory firm.

    Nicholas Basso has joined Peak Rock Capital as an MD in Austin, Texas, and will be reponsible for helping to lead the firm’s investments across corporate credit and grow the firm’s credit platform. Basso was previously an MD in the Strategic Credit Group at Oaktree Capital Management in Los Angeles.

    Sam Gross has joined Permira Debt Managers as an Investment Director in the firm’s Direct Lending team. Gross joins from PJT Partners’ Restructuring & Special Situations Group. Permira Debt Managers have also hired Oliver Palierakis as an Investment Professional. Palierakis was previously an Associate in the EMEA Leverage Finance team at Bank of America.

    The New York-based hedge fund Taconic Capital Advisors has recently made a number of hires in London as part of its plans to start its third European fund focused on distressed debt. Piergiorgio Lo Greco has joined the firm as an advisor for Italy with a focus on sourcing and working on Italian distressed deals and special situations. Lo Greco was formerly a Portfolio Manager at Cheyne Capital Management. The Hedge Fund has also hired Vitaliy Ardislamov as a Director in its London office. Ardislamov will report to Keith Magliana, Head of the European Credit team at the firm. Prior to joining the Hedge Fund, Ardislamov worked as a Portfolio Manager at Signet Capital Management and prior to that as a distressed debt Analyst at BlueMountain Capital Management.

  • based in Paris. Thuin joins from asset management firm TOBAM in Paris where he was Head of Fixed Income. In his new role at Tikehau, Thuin will be responsible for overseeing the management of Tikehau Capital’s bonds, equity, and flexible investment strategies.

    Susan George has joined White Oak Global Advisors in the newly created position of Head of Asset Management. She will be based in New York and report to Darius Mozaffarian, President of the firm. Prior to joining White Oak, George was Head of Corporate Asset Management at Garrison Investment Group, a credit and distressed debt manager.

    Sebastien Maurin has joined advisory boutique Balnageith Advisers as an MD in London. Maurin previously worked at Cantor Fitzgerald where he helped to develop the Debt Advisory business.

    Mathias Übler has joined DC Advisory in Frankfurt as an Associate in the firm’s Debt Advisory & Restructuring team. Previously, Übler worked at UniCredit in its Munich based Corporate Structured Finance team.

    FTI Consulting has hired Andy Clayton as an MD in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring team in London. Clayton joins from the European Investment team at Oak Hill Advisors. Prior to joining Oak Hill in 2016, he worked in PwC’s Restructuring team.

    Gareth James and Ken Goldsborough, two former TP ICAP executives, have left the firm to launch Ganymede Capital, a new Debt Advisory firm, based in London. The firm will specialise in fund finance advisory, debt advisory and wider capital needs at fund level and manager level.

    Massimiliano Messina has joined KPMG’s Restructuring team in London as a Partner and Head of Turnaround. Messina previously worked at PwC, where he led the firm’s UK CRO and Turnaround practice.

    Lazard has hired Christopher Mallon as a Senior Adviser providing strategic counsel to Lazard’s Global Restructuring practice. He will be based in London and work closely with Cyrus Kapadia, UK CEO of Financial Advisory, and Restructuring MDs Richard Stables and David Burlison. Mallon was previously a Senior Restructuring Partner at global law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

    THM Partners have strengthened their London based Restructuring capability with the hires of two MDs, Duncan Calverley, and Mark Sweeting. Calverley joins with twenty-five years’ experience formally working in the Restructuring & Turnaround teams at KPMG, AlixPartners and EY. Mark Sweeting joins the firm following five years as CFO of RA Holding Corp, the successor company to Arcapita Bank.

    Chris Dix has joined Antler, an early stage VC fund and global start-up generator, as Global Capital Director, after more than twelve years at J.P. Morgan, where he was latterly an ED in the London based Leveraged Finance team.

    Petya Gangova has joined Oakbrook Finance as a Financial Professional in London. She was latterly an Investment Professional at Blenheim Chalcot and previously member of the Bank Debt Portfolio Group at Goldman Sachs.

  • SumUp, a fintech company, has hired Michelle Schrey as a Corporate Finance VP. Schrey was most recently a VP in the Specialty Lending team at TPG Sixth Street Partners, based in London.

    Axel Beck has joined Bank of America’s Financial Sponsor Coverage team as an MD, after almost seventeen years at J.P. Morgan. Bank of America has also hired Christos Tomaras as a Senior MD in the M&A team, where he will work across sectors & geographies and cover both corporate and sponsor clients.

    Berenberg has had an internal reshuffle. Fabian De Smet has become Head of Continental Europe and will continue to lead syndication globally. A new business unit has begun incorporating teams focused on markets & trading, resulting in Philipp Wiechmann and Steward Cook becoming Co-Heads of European Markets.

    BNP Paribas has hired Gaurav Gooptu as an MD to focus on the consumer sector and Zahid Moneer as an MD to focus on healthcare. Both are to be based in London covering the EMEA region. Gooptu and Moneer join from Barclays and HSBC, respectively.

    Citigroup has hired Anders Fogh Rasmussen, a former Prime Minister of Denmark (2001 – 2009), as a Senior Advisor within its EMEA IB business. After leaving office, he was Secretary-General of NATO for five years before going on to run his own geopolitical consultancy business, Rasmussen Global.

    Stefan Hafke has been named Chief Country Officer – Germany by Citigroup. Hafke had been working in the role on an interim basis since February, replacing Stefan Wintels, who became Global Co-Head of Citi’s Financial Institutions Group. Hans Reich stepped down from his role as Chair of the Supervisory Board for Citigroup Global Markets Europe AG. Head of European Regulatory Engagement, Barbara Frohn, was elected Chair. Wintels was appointed Deputy Chair. Fabio Lisanti has been appointed Head of Citi’s Markets Business – Europe, excluding the UK, and Miguel Gabian as Head of Sales and Trading – Spain and Portugal.

    Deutsche Bank has appointed Patrick Frowein and Berthold Fuerst as Co-Heads of IB Coverage – EMEA, following Adam Bagshaw’s departure. Frowein retains his position as Head of Deutsche Investment Bank, Germany.

    Goldman Sachs has hired Diego Fortunati as an MD in M&A focusing on Industrials. Fortunati joins from Bank of America and will be based in London, working closely with Clare Scherrer, Global Co-Head of Industrials.

    HSBC has hired Adam Bagshaw as Global Co-Head of Advisory & IB Coverage alongside current Co-Head Peter Enns. Hugo Health is currently interim Co-Head. Bagshaw will join after fourteen years at Deutsche Bank, where he was most recently Head of IB – EMEA and Global Co-Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage. Jacques Callaghan has also joined HSBC as Head of Mid-Market M&A – UK. Callaghan was previously a Senior MD at Macquarie and Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage – UK. Based in London, Callaghan will be reporting to Kamal Jabre, Global Head of M&A.

    J.P. Morgan has made further changes to its global investment banking business, including a series of new appointments within its EMEA business, with a view to creating a client focused global committee of senior bankers, centred on business development. Guillermo Baygual, Co-Head of Industry Coverage – EMEA, has also been named Co-Head of M&A – EMEA alongside Dwayne Lysaght. Achintya Mangla, previously Head of ECM – EMEA, was promoted to Global Head in February.

    J.P. Morgan has hired Maja Torun as Head of IB – France. Torun will report to Tanguy Piret, Head of Banking – France, Belgium & Luxembourg. Torun joins from Citigroup where she was Co-Head of IB – France for four years, after previously working for Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch.

    Mizuho Bank has hired former Lloyds banker John Feeney as Head of European Corporate Finance. Feeney, a real estate banker, began his career in structured finance at Barclays and Fitch, and co-founded Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s European and Asian structured real estate business. Feeney will report to Shinsuke Toda, Managing Executive Officer at Mizuho Bank.

    Natixis has had a reshuffle of its regional leadership. Simon Eedle, who was formerly based in Dubai as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) – Middle East, has moved to London to become Senior Country Manager for CIB – UK. Barbara Riccardi has been appointed Regional Head of Middle East, overseeing CIB activities in the Dubai, Turkey & Saudi Arabia region. Both Eedle and Riccardi will continue to report to Stéphane About, CEO of CIB – EMEA.

  • Robert Ritchie is joining Wells Fargo as Head of Banking and Capital Markets – EMEA, having previously served as Global Co-Head of UK Banking at HSBC. Ritchie will be based in London and report to John Langley, Regional President and Head of CIB – EMEA. Langley, formerly at Barclays, joined Wells Fargo last year.

    Alantra has announced the hires of Christos Stefanidis from KPMG and Marcus Evans from PwC as MD’s for Greece and the UK, respectively. Alantra has also appointed three Managing Partners to lead its Italian business activities – Stefano Bellavita, Francesco Moccagatta and Marcello Rizzo. They will be focusing on M&A, ECM, corporate broking, and debt advisory.

    Ardea Partners has hired Thomas Rézette as an ED based in London. Rézette joins from J.P. Morgan where he was a member of the Financial Institutions Group.

    Centerview Partners has hired Matthieu Pigasse as a Partner to run its new Paris office. He will lead a team of approximately fifteen bankers, including former Lazard employees Nicolas Constant and Pierre Pasqual. Pigasse joins from Lazard, where he was the Global Head of M&A, Global Head of Government Advisory and CEO for Lazard France.

    DC Advisory has hired Andrew Congleton as an MD to co-lead M&A within its Infrastructure Advisory team. Congleton will be working alongside MD’s Neale Marvin, Sergio Ronga and Phillip Hyman in the London office. Congleton joins from RBC Capital Markets.

    Bodo Uebber has joined Evercore Germany as Chmn of its Supervisory Board. Uebber will be working with Eduard Kostadinov, Head of Evercore’s German Advisory business, and Walter Kuna, Vice Chmn. Uebber is joining from Daimler, where he was CFO since 2004.

    Richard Taylor has joined Greenhill as an MD and Chmn of Greenhill’s UK business. Most recently, Taylor was Chmn of Barclays’ Global Corporate and Investment Banking business.

    Andreas Dombret has joined Houlihan Lokey as an International Senior Advisor in Frankfurt. Dombret has an expansive thirty-three years of experience, working for Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan, Rothschild & Co, and Bank of America. Most recently, Dombret was a member of the Executive Board of The Deutsche Bundesbank.

    Muriel Petit has joined Jefferies as Head of Consumer Products – EMEA. Petit’s previous role was Vice Chmn in the Consumer, Retail & Healthcare Industry Group at BNP Paribas, where she worked for almost seventeen and a half years.

    Lazard has also hired a former Perella Weinberg Partners MD, David da Rosa, to focus on telecoms and digital infrastructure. He will be based in London.

    Lincoln International has made a number of hires in London and Frankfurt. Healthcare bankers Dirk Loeffler, Julian Knirim, and Jens Gerlach join from Raymond James in Frankfurt. Loeffler joins as MD & Head of Healthcare – DACH, with Knirim and Gerlach joining as Directors. Florus Plantenga has joined the London office as an MD focusing on financial sponsors in the UK & Europe. Plantenga joins after twelve years at Houlihan Lokey, where he was an MD in Financial Sponsor Coverage – UK, Benelux, France & Germany. Lincoln International has also hired Alexander Doll as Chmn of the Supervisory Board for Lincoln International AG in Germany. Doll joins the firm’s Global Management Committee.

    Moelis & Co has hired Philippe Gallone as an MD in Global Healthcare, based in London. Since 2016, Gallone, a qualified medical doctor, was Head of Healthcare – EMEA at Morgan Stanley and had worked at the bank for over thirteen years.

    BC Partners has hired Pascal Heberling as a Partner in its London office. Herberling will focus on healthcare sector investments and support transactions across Europe. Heberling joins from ADIA (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority) where he was Head of Healthcare.

    ECI Partners has promoted Tom Wrenn to its Investment Committee, while Steve Tudge will become Non-Executive Chair, having been with the firm for twenty-six years.

    EQT has opened an office in Paris with Partner Nicolas Brugère taking on the role of Head of France. Brugère joined EQT in January from PAI Partners and brings almost fourteen years’ of experience to the business. MD Thomas Rajzbaum, who joined the firm in November from Carlyle, has been promoted to Head of Infrastructure Strategy – France and will also be part of the new Paris office. Additionally, Rania Belkahia who has joined EQT Ventures as a Deal Partner from Afrimarket, where she was Co-Founder and CEO, and former Colony Capital executive Sébastien Morizot, who has joined EQT Real Estate as a Director, will both be part of the initial 10 professionals working in the newly established office.

    H.I.G. Capital has hired John Harper as an MD and Head of the London LBO team. He will be leading the firm’s small cap investments in the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and Holland. Previously, Harper was a Partner at Inflexion.

    Christian Cederfeld has joined IK Investment Partners as an Investment Associate based in Copenhagen. Cederfeld was previously an Associate in Morgan Stanley’s London based IB Industrials team.

    Mayfair Equity Partners has made five promotions across its team: Paul Redding has been promoted to MD, Shiva Tiwari to Director, Kristina Hristova to AD, and Aryo Tehranian and Omar Kanafani to Senior Associate.

    James Redmayne and Giles Marshall are set to join Searchlight Capital Partners’ European team as a Partner and an MD, respectively.     Warburg Pincus has appointed current MD’s René Obermann and Adarsh Sarma to Co-Head the European Business, replacing Dan Zilberman who will be relocating back to New York after having been based in London for seven years to expand the business’ European arm.
