1. AmpereSoft ProPlan

1.1. New Functions

1.1.1. Using wiring template

For Connections, you have the option to set a standard template under the menu “Edit > Wire functions”.

Put a check mark in front of the features you want to use. If you choose a specific material via „Material“ and put the check mark for this feature, the lines will be drawn with this material attributes. For the features are used, the check mark “Using for new lines” must be set. Please note that for using the wire settings, the dialog „Wire functions” have to be open when drawing the lines.

1.1.2. Wiring routing

With AmpereSoft ProPlan, an automatic wiring routing can be realized with determination of the wire length. The wiring routing is executed via the dialog “Wire functions” (menu “Edit”). By the function „Prepare wiring list“, the connections are adjusted according to the settings selected in the dialog. Following settings can be chosen:

By the function “Generate Routing” the lengths of the wires are determined and the connections shown in the assembly plan. For this purpose, the wiring mode must be set to target wiring and the scale of the sheet properties to 1:10.

Now generate a wiring list, all information about the wiring, including length information, will be included in the list

Afterwards, the wiring information can be exported for the wire routing

1.1.3. Export the wiring information for wire preparation

The wiring information with the information about source and destination EQID, wiring material, cross-section, the type and length of the wire can be exported for the wire preparation.

You can choose export formats for the machine of companies CADCABEL, Komax, Steinhauer and NWF (neutral wire list format). If required we can prepare the necessary configuration files for this, for that, please contact our support department. Tel: +49 228 608847-47 [email protected]

1.1.4. Text clipboard

In the database "Text clipboard", you can lay always recurring texts across projects for reuse. The database can be found under the menu „Databases > Text clipboard“ Before using the text clipboard, the “Project path for foreign language translator” has to be set in the “System settings”. In this project the text clipboard will be saved. If you have written a new text (e.g. open texts, EQ-specific comment, etc.), you can directly accept this one into the text clipboard. Mark the text in the text window and press shortcut

Shift + F8 the text is accepted into the text clipboard. In the process, the database window is opened.

Ctrl + F8 the text is accepted into the text clipboard. In the process, the database window remains closed.

Texts from the text clipboard can be positioned in the project by „Place in diagram“. The possible functions in the text clipboard as “Locate in diagram”, “Find/replace”, “Assign texts in CD”, etc., work the same on the actions of foreign languages databases.

1.1.5. Free issue

The property “Free issue” of equipment is listed as a column in the Project explorer “All items of equipment” (CD view). The standard text “db(CUSTCONTR)” also can be used for forms and lists.

1.1.6. Modifying graphical elements

„Modify (Select point)“ fromt the context menu of a graphical element, see the new menu item. This function enables the subsequent determination of the starting point for modification.

1.1.7. Starting the AmpereSoft ToolDataManagers

With AmpereSoft ToolDataManager you can manage, search and edit ProPlan projects. Via “File > ToolDataManager“, the program can be started. 1.2. New settings

1.2.1. User defined Project properties

Via the system settings „GUI/dialogs > Project properties: text markers“, you have the possibility to create up to 10 user defined property fields. The texts of the filled fields will be saved in the specified text markers key in the project.

1.2.2. View logical links as mechanical at a direct connection

In the system settings „Diagrams > Aim identification/wiring > Logical links as mechanical“, you can choose the new switch „At a direct connection“. Logical links are only considered as a mechanical link, when the terminals are connected directly over the line and have the same potential. Thus, they are excluded from the aim identification and wiring list.

1.2.3. Orientation guide line to linked terminals in the circuit diagram

In the system settings “Diagrams > Terminal links“, the new setting “Drawing a line at the clamp bridges with cross reference” is available. Off: Of linked terminals no direction-indication line is shown. On (Default value): Of linked terminals a direction-indicating line to the connected terminal is shown in the circuit diagram.

1.2.4. Warning when deleting items via the Project explorer

For objects that are deleted via the Project explorer, which are linked with other elements, you can activate a warning massage.

The setting can be found under the system settings: „Handling-actions > Delete Options > Distributing a warning before deleting“

1.2.5. Representing of marked/localized elements

In the system settings “Handling-actions > Cursor control/marking” see new settings for the display of marked or localized elements.

Taking the foreground when marking elements.

This setting is used for clarity of marked elements.

On

The selected element is displayed in the foreground while the mark.

Off

The presentation level is not changed by the mark.

This setting is used in particular in the area of auto-routing.

Representing elements without fill colour when marking

This setting is used to control the visibility of elements located below the marked element.

On

The marked element is displayed without fill colour during the mark,

Off

The fill colour is also displayed during the mark.

Taking the foreground when localizing elements

This setting is used for clarity of localized elements.

On

The localized element is displayed in the foreground.

Off

The presentation level is not changed due to the localization.

Representing elements without fill colour when locating

This setting is used to control the visibility of elements located below the located element.

On

The localized element is displayed without fill colour.

Of

The fill colour of a localized element is still shown.

1.2.6. Copying CD parts of an combination

The function of the setting „Handling-actions > copy options > Copying of CD parts (equipment copy options) = old equipment (if possible, take unused CD parts of old equipment)” has been enhanced. When copying CD parts of a combination, the CD parts of the combination elements will also be offered now.

Are the switch “Taking the foreground when marking/localizing elements” and “Represent elements without fill colour when marking/locating” set to “on”, the filled symbol of the cable channel is brought to the foreground and shown without a fill colour. The line under

the cable channel is still visible.

If the switch “Taking the foreground when marking/localizing elements” is set to “on”, the connection between Q7 and Q18 is displayed completely. Otherwise covered areas of the line are visible.

1.2.7. Control display of the tool tip of elements

In the system settings “Handling-actions > Cursor control/marking“, you can control the visibility of the tool tip of plan elements.

No tool tip is displayed while marking a plan element.

Is the setting “Displaying tool tips of elements” set to “on”, the information of the element is shown in a tool tip.

2.1. New functions

2.1.1. Additional properties window

About the menu "View" the second properties window be opened under the point “Classification”. Herewith you have the possibility in two different windows to show two different property views.

The arrangement can occur either about the menu or about the context menu.

2.1.2. New menu arrangement

To reach fast to the desired view in the “properties window”, click in the menu "View" under "Properties" on the desired arrangement. If the properties window is not yet visible it will be activated now. If one or both windows are quite visible, the active window on the desired view will be updated.

2.1.3. Structured dialogue of the column chooser

An extended window is available to you beside the "column chooser" for fading in and fading out of property columns in the overview. You find it also in the context menu under “column chooser (extended)”.

Here you can select several columns by check mark and fade in and fade out with the button "Accept"

2.1.4. Updating selected properties

With the functions “Update in” and “Update from” opens after choice of the databank the dialogue “Properties selection”. If “Completely" is marked and you click on "Accept", all available data of the selected data sets of one databank will be updated in the other databank. With the point “Selected properties” you can select several properties which should be updated. Should a property not be able to be updated, you can vote it out here. If your choice is met, click on “Accept” to start the update.

2.1.5. Editing of polyvalent properties

If at polyvalent properties like, e.g.: "Assembly symbol" of several data sets the same symbolic entry should be changed, change in the edit mode and select the desired data sets and press the functional key F2. The edit dialogue thereby opens. Put then the cursor on the position you like to change and write in the new symbolic name. About the plus or X button, new positions can be added or passing ones.

If you save with the button “Save changes”, only the position which you have worked on will be saved. Other positions remain untouched. If you save with the button “Save”, the complete entry will be taken over for all selected data sets.

2.1.6. New „ID reference (company)“

In this column, you can assign a company specific ID reference. The value will only be shown with the suitable company ID, like in the column “Material number (ERP)”. You can edit the company ID in the MatClass options under “Copmanx data”. The column „ID reference (company)“ is an unambiguous column, and allows every value only once.

2.1.7. Update of “Surcharges”, “Packaging” and “MIME data”

The data, which are shown in the taps or windows “Surcharges”, “Packaging” and “MIME data”, can be updated from database to database with the function “Update in” and “Update from” in the context menu.

3. AmpereSoft ToolDataManager

3.1. General information about AmpereSoft ToolDataManager

The ToolDataManager helps you to search AmpereSoft ProPlan projects in arbitrary directory structures (local/network) using ProPlan data as project attributes (text markers), standard texts, open texts, symbol attributes und material attributes. It allows project-specific or cross-project maintenance of project attributes markers, symbols and material. Mass maintenance functions such as material and symbol import, archive, compression are possible for several ProPlan projects simultaneous. For a detailed manual of the functions of AmpereSoft ToolDataManager, see the Help menu in the

ToolDataManagers .

3.1.1. Installing the AmpereSoft ToolDataManagers

The AmpereSoft ToolDataManager is integrated in the installation of AmpereSoft ProPlan (from V3.5). ProPlan comes per download or DVD ROM. In this case you need a DVD drive for installation. The DVD ROM then starts an installation dialog. Just follow the instructions on the screen. If this dialogue should not start, please open the DVD drive via windows explorer and manually start the file ProPlan3-DE.Setup.exe . By default, AmpereSoft ToolDataManager will be installed in drive C: within the directory Program Files\ AmpereSoft\ProPlan3\bin. In case of an update, the current installation directory will automatically be used. The software needs the Microsoft.Net Framework. If this is not provided by your personal computer, you will need administrator rights in order to carry out the installation.

3.1.2. Starting the AmpereSoft ToolDataManager

Two ways to start AmpereSoft ToolDataManagers

After successful installation of AmpereSoft ToolDataManager you find the icon on your desktop to start the AmpereSoft ToolDataManagers.

The second way to start AmpereSoft ToolDataManager is via the menu “File > ToolDataManager” in AmpereSoft ProPlan.
