MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Sam’s words…
Sam Bestwick
Chair Cawston Parish Council
You are cordially invited to the 1st Cawston Community
Forum!
This is an event organised by Cawston Parish Council, where local representatives have been invited to attend from the Consortium,
County Council, Borough Council, Parish Council and Police. They will be acting as a panel to answer your questions on any topic
covering Cawston.
The event will run on Monday the 5th of March
at Cawston Community Hall 19.30 – 21.00
We would like as many local residents to attend as possible. To get
the maximum from the evening we would like to ask for as many
questions in advance of the evening which we can ask to the panel as well as taking questions from attendees on the night.
If you have a question you would like to ask please email the
Parish Clerk at: [email protected]
If that is not enough refreshments will also be provided on the night!
Your Voice Counts!
Please use this opportunity to ask the questions you want asking and we will do our best to get them answered.
Community Hall Management Group
Are you a proactive, practical, helpful person looking to put a bit back into the community? We are looking for a few volunteers to sit on the Community Hall Management group.
We meet once a fortnight to discuss / arrange: · A rota of volunteers to open and lock the building on the days when our
regular users / key holders are not in attendance (this often involves meeting children’s party hirers)
· Routine maintenance issues, anything from a broken toilet roll holder (can we fix it ourselves?) to the electronic heating controls.
· Hall improvements, what can we afford and what do we want to do. · General maintenance; touching up paintwork, re-fitting a door handle, putting
up shelves, sorting out a cupboard, helping out with a kitchen deep clean. · Outdoor maintenance during the better weather, regular grass cutting and
general tidiness.
There are only 7 of us who currently manage this so a few extra hands would greatly help to lighten the load somewhat. If you have a bit of free time and think you could help we would love to hear from you! Please drop us a line at: [email protected]
About the Hall
The building has been specifically designed to provide versatility so as to accommodate a wide range of uses and activities. The community hall accommodation comprises of: - main hall of 162 m2 with seating for 186 people - large function room of 100 m2
- small “meeting” room of 26 m2
- kitchen with servery to service both the main hall and function room - storage for furniture and hall users equipment - toilets and baby change facilities - 30 car park spaces
