Year 4 Home Learning Week beginning: 6th July

Hello Year 4 and families, I hope you are all safe and well. This week, we have prepared another timetable of activities for you to complete and all the resources you need are below. Please use it as a guide and don’t worry if you don’t get through everything! YEAR 4 MATHS Daily Times Tables Spend 10 minutes practicing your times tables. This can be writing your own times tables calculations, using your flash cards, playing games on TTRockstars or playing the hit the button game on top marks. Challenge 1 – Number of the Week

Daily Spelling Spend 10 minutes practicing 3-5 words a day from the spelling list (write them in a sentence, use a dictionary to find definitions, pyramid writing, write out 5 times etc). Go back to them each day and check if you can remember them. If you can, choose a new one. If not, keep practising!

Bugclub Choose one of your books and read it carefully then answer the questions that go with it. Grammar Activity – Fronted adverbials for ‘when’

Choose your favourite reptile and write a fact booklet about it. Include a labelled diagram, information about where it lives, information about its diet and some interesting facts. Writing Activity 3 – New Discovery Today you are going to imagine that you are a scientist and you have discovered a new reptile. What does it look like? What is it called? Where does it live? What does it eat? What interesting things can it do? Design and make a fact booklet about it.

Listen to the piece of music again and answer the following questions: Did the tempo stay the same all the way through the song? In music, dynamics means how loud or quiet the music is. What are the dynamics in this song? Can you identify the different instruments/voices that you heard? Did all of the instruments and voice play or sing throughout the song? What is the style of music? How is the song put together? Can you learn the song?
