Qualifications and Experience

QCF Level 5 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development; or a relevant occupational qualification in early years education, social work, nursing, teaching or health visiting.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a play, education, youth or day care setting.

A minimum of 1 year’s supervisor experience.

Experience in developing and delivering training

Experience of group facilitation

Only those applicants who state clearly on their application form that they have the required level of qualification/experience will be considered for interview.

Knowledge Knowledge and understanding of child development

Knowledge of devising and implementing programmes

Knowledge of observing and planning for the individual needs of children

Knowledge and understanding of evaluating practice

To be aware of and understand safeguarding procedures

An understanding of the DE developmental programme for 2-3-year olds

Understanding of community development principles

Interview

Skills and Abilities

Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of young children

Ability to manage staff and to deal with difficult issues effectively

Proven ability of planning and leading initiatives effectively

Evidence of good listening and communication skills - both oral and written

Evidence of the ability to work effectively in a team and on your

Other requirements

It is essential that the person meets the travel requirements of this post. It will involve travelling within the Dalriada Sure Start area.

Due to the nature of the work which involves contact with children and vulnerable adults the candidate will require Access NI checks
