Teaching resources Worksheet for students: I am helping at home, I am helping at
school (double sided) Writing utensils
Forms of work
1. Individual 2. Together 3. Group 4.In pairs 5. Individualized
Introductory activity
Game: One of the students, non - verbal shows some activity from the home / school, and
the other students should guess the activity. (vacuuming, dish washing, bedding etc.) or
from school (writing, reading, deleting board etc.),
Main activity
Main activity number 1.
All students sit on their desks. Each of them get worksheet: „I am helping at home, I am
helping at school“. First in the five empty fields aimed for their homes, they write or
draw different ways how they can help. On the sheet they draw or write the way for
helping home. Then they present the activity.
Discussion
1. At home we are doing a lot of activities each day. Who can help at home? How?
2. How the others members of the family feel when you are helping them?
3. Why it is so important to help at home?
4. What you cannot help at home? Why?
Main activity number 2.
They are working on the other side of the worksheet. Then they draw / write how they
help each other at school After that they present the activity.
* Discussion
1. Who can we help at school? How?
2. When you are helping someone at school, how he/she is feeling?
3. Why is it so important to help at school?
4. What you cannot help at school? Why?
Conclusion:
There are different ways how the children
could help at home (arranging toys, bedding…) or at school (help with tasks, arranging
desks and chairs, helping the sick child….). In that case, those who are helped feel that
someone care about them. But there are things that children cannot do at home. Those
things are left to adults (whitewash, furniture repair etc.)
1.There are different ways that children can help at home and at school.
2. We should not have any prejudices to help or to get help from persons from other
ethnic and cultural communities.
3.The feeling when you help, or get help is wonderful.
4.Realize that getting and giving help is positive characteristic.
5.With helping we are increasing the mutual trust and cooperation
Final activity Game – Final activity – Did we offer or get enough help?
Game – 4 chairs arranged in a circle. The children walk around the chairs, on my sign
they should find empty chair for sit. Each round one chair is moved, and the children
must try to find a place for sit. At the end there is one empty chair and the winner is the
child who will sit on that chair.
We carried out this game in our school and got big success for concentration of the
students, they not only learn but also get the enjoyment in the class. We have videos
when we applied this game and can be seen any teacher who wish to watch. Here is the
