Composite volcanoes are made from layers of ash.
Different Types of Volcanoes
A shield volcano is made by lava flows. They are shallow and wide and look like a shield lying on the ground.
A composite volcano is made by lots of layers of lava, ash and rock. They are tall and conical shaped.
Volcanoes make me feel nervous but excited. They are very dangerous, yet
at the same time spectacular to watch.
