Structure & Functions of The Eye

Functions of The Eye Cornea: tough, clear structure, which lets light enter the eye and

bend light.

Lens: focuses light, is attached to muscles which contract and relax to change its shape in response to the need for clarity.

Iris: the part of the eye that gives the eye its color.

Optic nerve: bundle of retinal fibers that exists on the back of the eye and transports electrical impulses to the brain where they are interpreted in the primary visual cortex.
