MY PASSION AND
GREAT ENJOYMENT
FOR ARCHITECTURE
IS BECAUSE I BELIEVE
WE CAN AFFECT THE
QUALITY OF LIFE OF
THE PEOPLE.
//Richard Rogers
Design is what makes everyday life exist. From the handle of the coffee pot to the entrance to an office building, design is what allows living in the modern world easier and more possible. I want to be a part of that.
I enjoy design because of the effect it can have on people lives. I enjoy making people happy. I believe that as de-signers, architects or artists in general, we can help people live better lives through space and form. To me, it is not always the structure, but the spaces the structure creates that are most interesting.
A quote by Arthur Erickson sums up this idea of space v.s. structure- “Space has always been the spiritual dimension of architecture. It is not the physical statement of the structure so much as what it contains that moves us.” It is the successful integration of the two that draw me into architecture and design.

Finalist | Idaho Concrete Masonry Association CMU Design Competition
Located in Boise, Idaho, Fire Station #5 not only show cases the heroic, iconic fire fighting profession, but also provides for it as well, through thoughtful use of materials, in particular concrete masonry units, through emphasizing the public display of service, and through providing a greater quality of life for the clients of the building design, the fire fighters.
// fire station no.5 //
spring ‘10arch | 354
Finalist | Idaho Concrete Masonry Association CMU Design Competition
The architectural character of the facility stems from original inspi-rations and precedents of the Bauhaus/De Stijl style where positive and negatives spaces intersected and collided. These selective collisions create the substantial planes of CMU that shape the voids to create program driven spaces and direct circulation.
// sustainable living center //
interior design capstoneproject
The center for sustainable living focuses on a change in lifestyle. This complex for the promotion of sustainable living will encom-pass various components: an educational experience, hands-on opportunities to ‘go green,’ a convenient resource to provide the public with these components, and everyday occasions to implement eco-friendly initiatives for everyone involved.
// sustainable living center //
interior design capstoneproject
The building will be considered a center or a mini-metropolis for basic eco-friendly options for everyday materials, methods, and habits. This adaptability hub, so to speak, will provide the opportunity for the public to emulate these sustainable prac-tices in their lives and living spaces.
