USER GUIDE FOR ONLINE E-PAYMENT OF DIRECT TAXES THROUGH INTERNET BANKING OF CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA

The Income tax department through Tax Information Network (TIN) provides a facility for the taxpayer to pay tax online. For this purpose, they are required to access the NSDL – TIN website https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/etax/Index.htm and select e-Tax option. The tax payer will be able to select the relevant challan (electronic) it wants to submit and fill up its details online. The below mentioned challans are displayed. The user should have tax deduction account number (TAN) or permanent account number (PAN) and Central Bank of India’s Internet Banking user id and password for the tax payment.

2. The user selects the required challan and then fills all the mandatory fields of the challan like Tax Deduction Account No., Assessment Year, Full Name, State etc and then selects Central Bank of India for making payment and press Proceed.

3. Confirm data page is displayed where user can confirm whether all his details entered are correct and press “Submit to Bank.” In case the user wants to make any changes he can edit the details.

4. The user will be prompted to enter the login name and password.

5. On validating the transaction password, the customer will be prompted to confirm the details displayed.

6. Subsequent to the confirmation by the customer, the account chosen gets debited with the total amount and challan number shall be displayed on screen. The same can be downloaded as a cyber receipt.

7. The duplicate receipt for the tax payment made can be taken after logging into the Internet Banking with the menu navigation – CBDT e-payments -> Duplicate Receipt as displayed below:
