Flash
Myth #2: You Need 100% Flash for Predictable Read
Performance Reality:
– Most environments only need only 3-15% flash to deliver virtually all the reads from flash.
– The ratio actually goes down further as volume sizes grow
– You can of course choose to place 100% of a critical workload in flash in an ultra
conservative scenario (CASL allows completely variable flash/disk ratio)
– However it rarely makes sense to do this for applications such as Exchange, VDI,
SharePoint, file servers, snapshot blocks
