The Word

for today…

Phrases that struck me on hearing:

On this mountain the Lord will make for all peoples a feast of rich food…

He will destroy the shroud that is cast over all peoples…

The Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces…

For you have been a refuge to the poor, a refuge to the needy in their distress, a shelter from the rainstorm and a shade from the heat… Isaiah 25: 1-9

The Lord is my shepherdI shall not be in want…

He revives my souland guides me along

right pathways…

Psalm 23

REJOICE in the Lord always; again I say rejoice.

Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

Do not worry about anything but in everything by prayer let your requests be known to God…

Philippians 4: 1-9

How can we ‘cultivate the Spirit’ in a busy city, busy world - with families, or jobs or other interests which fill our days?

• Wedding invitations

• the room is prepared and the food is ready

• “But the guests made light of it….”

• Quick retribution

• “Go out into the streets and hedgerows…”

• One guest did not come prepared

Many are called -but few are chosen…

On this mountain the Lord will make for all peoples a feast of rich food…

But only if we give him the time and space to do so…
