THE IDEAL BASE TO BUILD ON
No other transport sector is as varied and
demanding as construction transport. DAF has
developed a truly comprehensive range of vehicles
to meet these requirements, so you can choose
exactly the right truck for any application —
whether this is a rigid or a tractor unit, with two,
three or four axles, either single or double-driven.
The LF is ideal for light work; the CF is a real
all-rounder; and the XF meets the demands of long
distance and heavy transport. Thanks to their
proven reliability and long service life, they are
equal to any task, which means maximum vehicle
availability. After all, time is money.
A DAF FOR EVERY APPLICATION

Transport in the construction industry places heavy
demands on the equipment; loading and unloading
locations that are often difficult to reach, sites with
difficult terrain and heavy loading are all challenges
that your truck has to be able to cope with effortlessly.
DAF offers a wide selection of models that are tailored
to the various market sectors.
CONSTRUCTION DISTRIBUTION Construction transport often involves distributing construction materials
such as bricks, blocks, window frames, plaster board, insulation materials
and roof tiles. Another regular job is supplying and collecting sand, gravel
and waste materials in removable containers. In situations where you want
a compact vehicle, you can opt for the LF. If you need more payload or
more space in the cab, then the CF or XF is the ideal option, available with
a steered leading rear axle to minimise yard and site wear or a steered
trailing rear axle for extra manoeuvrability. The CF and XF are also
available with a single or double-driven tandem axles for extra traction.
Customers can also choose from various front axle options, for higher
payloads and with enough tolerance to prevent overloading when partial
loads are being transported or heavy cranes are installed.
5
TIPPERS AND MIXERS In construction,
tipper and mixer vehicles have to handle extremely tough conditions.
The CF is frequently used in this sector and is ideally suited to the jobs
involved — such as transporting sand, gravel, asphalt and concrete.
DAF has focussed here on robustness and reliability. The CF Construction
is designed specifically for offroad uses and is available with a 6x4 and
8x4 chassis. The special Construction bumper is mounted high to create
a large 25° approach angle. Combined with a 40 centimetre ground
clearance — thanks in part to the use of "straight-beam" front axles —
this provides excellent driving properties on unpaved roads. A strong
protection plate prevents damage to the radiator.
HEAVY TRANSPORT Abnormal and indivisible
loads all need a truck like the CF and XF 6x4 FTT, or the XF 8x4 FTM.
The latter has three rear axles; the front one is steered and the two at the rear
are driven. Partly thanks to this, the truck can operate at up to 120 tonnes.
Combined with the MX-13 engine with a rating of 375 kW/510 hp and torque
of up to 2,500 Nm, the XF FTM is exceptionally well suited for this specific
type of transport.
STRONG AND LIGHT
All DAF Euro 6 trucks — the LF, CF and XF — are equipped with a completely flat
ladder frame chassis. Whichever model or design you choose, a DAF chassis has a
low unladen weight, high torsional stiffness and plenty of room for mounting a body
or components; all thanks to the flexible positioning of components such as the
batteries, air tanks and fuel tank. The chassis design of a DAF truck is very user-
friendly and saves both time and money. Whatever the model, you can choose from
a range of suspension systems with leaf or air suspension, depending on what you
want and what the truck will be used for.
PERFECT BASE Using high tensile and high-quality steel means that the chassis is extremely
stiff and there is also a wide choice of different wheelbases and chassis lengths. Brake pipes and electrical
harnesses are well-protected in the chassis, and this contributes to reliability. To maximise efficiency, a wide variety
of hole patterns is provided for attachment points. Vehicle bodying is simplified even further and sub-frames and
components that are specific to the body are easy to mount.
7
CUSTOMISATION Because every superstructure is different, DAF gives you the option of mounting main
components at various points on the chassis; specifically, the fuel tank, batteries, air tanks, exhaust after-treatment system,
AdBlue tank and spare wheel. Selecting the appropriate layout creates space for components that are specific to the
superstructure, like a hydraulic tank, control unit or pump. Collaborations with various bodybuilders also mean that ready-
prepared chassis are available; these are fitted with the correct hole pattern and required body mounting consoles in the factory,
so bodybuilding is even faster and more convenient.
PREPARED Whatever the application may be, the
bodybuilder can use a Body Builder Module (BBM) — a standardised
interface between the vehicle and the superstructure, which is completely
separate from the other vehicle functions. The BBM provides safe access
to a wide range of vehicle signals and customer-specific control functions.
Using the BBM means that the superstructure can be operated from the
truck and truck functions are available from the superstructure.
Additionally, less cabling is required between the vehicle and the
superstructure. The resulting benefits are the time saved during installation
and the trouble-free, reliable operation of the truck itself.
8
MAXIMUM STABILITY A stabilink system, combined
with air suspension, is available for construction vehicles. This integrates the
anti-roll bar function into the axle suspension, resulting not only in optimum
stiffness and stability, but also in a considerable reduction in weight. The leaf-
sprung tandem-axle vehicles are equipped with the well-known trapezium
suspension with eight torque rods, ensuring extremely high roll stability. Four axle
rigid vehicles are also equipped with mechanical axle load compensation to make
maximum use of the axle load and counteract overloading of the front axles.
MAXIMUM CONTROL The electronically controlled dual
circuit brake system responds quickly when the brake pedal is applied. The
electronic brake system (EBS), which is fitted as standard on the LF, CF and XF,
delivers maximum deceleration under all conditions. It distributes the brake force
evenly across the front and rear axle(s) and between the truck and the trailer. An
optional integrated MX engine brake and/or intarder are available for even greater
brake performance. This reduces the load on the service brakes, so the brake
pads last longer — creating an immediate saving on operating costs.
OPTIMUM DRIVE
To get maximum efficiency from your truck and to keep running costs as low as possible, you can choose from a
wide range of engines, transmissions and rear axles, so your truck always has the correct rating and traction to suit
its specific application. By using the latest technology, this allows DAF to comply as efficiently as possible with the
strict Euro 6 emission requirements.
TESTED A complete range of state-of-the-art engines is available for
the DAF LF, CF and XF Euro 6. All PACCAR Euro 6 engines feature high ratings,
traction and flexibility — from the most compact PACCAR PX-5 for the LF, with
a rating and torque from 112 kW/150 hp and 580 Nm, to the most powerful
PACCAR MX-13 for the CF and XF, with 375 kW/510 hp and 2,500 Nm. The focus
is on reliability and a long service life, thanks to ultra-modern and thoroughly
tested technologies such as common rail fuel injection and a turbo with variable
geometry. Intelligent sensors and software ensure that the engine and the exhaust
gas after-treatment work perfectly together to help deliver low fuel consumption.
This results in lower operating costs for you; good for both your return on
investment and for the environment.
11
COMFORTABLE GEAR CHANGING Transmissions that are
fully tailored to the PACCAR engines result in optimal use of the rating and clutch. The LF, CF and XF
are delivered with a manual gearbox as standard. Changing gear is especially smooth and precise
thanks to Servoshift, a servo-assisted cable system. An automated AS Tronic and a fully automatic
transmission are also available. Specific software on the AS Tronic, such as for on and offroad
applications, ensures uninterrupted traction and effortless drive off, whatever the surface. The Hill Start
Aid on the AS Tronic and automatic transmission stop you from rolling backwards on an incline without
using the park brake — a convenient option for the driver.
EFFICIENT DRIVE DAF supplies a range of rear axles depending on the use,
engine power and towable weight, so that power is transferred fully and flexibly to the driven wheels.
As well as the regular 4x2 models, customers can choose from versions with double drive, a steered
leading rear axle and/or a fixed or steered trailing rear axle. The new, robust DAF SR1344 rear axle on
the CF and XF is particularly light and the low oil level contributes to the favourable fuel consumption.
The LF has the SR13.39 rear axle for more demanding applications; an inter-axle and/or cross-axle
lock ensure traction in difficult conditions.
13
EXTERNAL TRANSMISSION The engines and
transmissions on the LF, CF and XF offer extensive options for all conceivable PTO
applications, in a range of technical designs. The (clutch-independent) engine and
flywheel PTO are specifically intended for continuous or demanding applications.
This PTO drive is not interrupted when disengaging; a system that is used for
equipment including concrete mixers and pumps. The (clutch-dependent) gearbox
PTO, where the drive is interrupted when disengaging, is particularly suited to
unloading equipment, tipping mechanisms and loading cranes.
CLEAN To make sure that emission levels are as low as possible, DAF
Euro 6 trucks are fitted with an EGR system and an EAS unit, which consists of
an active soot filter and an SCR catalytic converter. The soot filter collects the
remaining soot particles, which are then automatically regenerated (clean burned)
by the high temperature of the exhaust gases. The SCR unit uses AdBlue to
break down the NOx in the exhaust gases. Thanks to this combined, high-quality
technology, the LF, CF and XF more than comply with the strict Euro 6 emission
requirements. The EAS unit in its entirety can be mounted on the left or the right
of the chassis, but can also be spread in two parts across both sides to ensure
optimum placing of any other components.
The cabs of the LF, CF and XF Euro 6
are the recognisable face of the new
generation of DAF trucks for construction
transport — attractive on both the inside
and the outside. With their sturdy yet
welcoming appearance, they are the
perfect match for the modern and
professional face of your transport
company. The interior of the DAF cabs
is characterised by lots of space,
exceptional comfort and ease of use as
well as an eye-catching appearance.
SPACE TO WORK
15
SPACIOUS The LF and CF are available with a Day Cab and Sleeper
Cab. There is also a Space Cab for the CF and XF and the latter can also be fitted
with the Super Space Cab. Space, quality and comfort are key here, which is clear
from touches like the many storage solutions, the materials used and the high level
of finish. The robust, well-placed steps and the doors that open up to 90° ensure
excellent accessibility, which is important when the driver has to frequently get in
and out.
COMFORTABLE The driver's every comfort is provided for so he
can carry out his duties as easily and as efficiently as possible. The interior design
has a cosy appearance, with excellent heating and ventilation. The seats have a
range of adjustment options and provide proper support for the buttocks, back and
lumbar region. Combined with the multifunctional steering wheel, where both the
height and the angle are adjustable, they ensure the perfect sitting position for drivers
of almost every size. The instruments on the dashboard are very easy to read and all
the operating controls are arranged logically. Depending on the model, the central
section of the dashboard has holders for toll cards, cup holders, USB connections
and practical DIN slots.
VISIBLE The unrestricted view through the windscreen and the side
windows adds to the safety of the driver and his fellow road users, which is further
reinforced by the generous front and side mirrors that can be adjusted to the perfect
position. Day time running lights (standard on the CF and XF and optional on the LF)
ensure excellent visibility during the day, whilst optional cornering lights shine in the
driving direction when turning and provide increased safety and a reduced risk of
damage. Combined with the LED technology for the main lighting, which is also
optional, this delivers an unrivalled lighting performance.
HIGH-QUALITY The use of high-quality materials and the perfect
finish mean that the cab interior can handle a few knocks. The CF Day Cab is also
available with vinyl wall trim that is easy to clean, just like the rubber covering on
the floor and engine tunnel. Even after years of intensive use, the interior of a
DAF vehicle will still look good at all times, which is nice for the driver and good for
retaining the value.
17
INFORMATIVE The colour display of the DAF Driver Performance Assistant (DPA) is positioned centrally on the dashboard of every
DAF LF, CF or XF. The DPA gives information about fuel consumption, braking behaviour and anticipating traffic situations, and displays the optimum gear
change point. Handy tips are provided on saving fuel, optimum use of the engine brake and the importance of topics including adjusting the deflector
properly and correct tyre pressure. The DPA motivates the driver to get the best out of his truck with as little effort as possible. The central information
display also provides useful vehicle information, such as the oil level, air supply, turbo pressure, axle load and PTO applications, as well as reminding the
driver about the need for regular maintenance. The trip information records the distance travelled, duration time and average speed at the same time.
SAFE DAF trucks are equipped as standard with a range of systems that help to improve safety. The LF, CF and XF are fitted with Electronic
Braking System (EBS), Anti-Slip Control (ASR), Brake Assist and Drag Torque Control (traction control) in the factory. In addition to these systems, a
range of factory options is available to increase the safety and comfort of your DAF truck to an even higher level. Options for the CF and XF include:
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Lane Departure Warning System
(LDWS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Axle Load Monitoring (ALM). ASR is available as an option for the LF.
COMMUNICATIVE The central section of the dashboard has practical DIN slots, which provide space for the optional Truck
Navigation Radio, with a radio/CD player, truck navigation system, Aux-in/USB connections for digital music files and a Bluetooth connection for
streaming audio. A fully integrated DAF TruckPhone is available as a further option, which allows two mobile phones to be connected simultaneously
via Bluetooth. Both are operated from the steering wheel and phone numbers and names are displayed on the dashboard.
LF 220 FA 4X2 CONSTRUCTION
THE MANOEUVRABLE LF
19
An flatbed body for transporting building materials? A compact
tipper? A plant body so you can transport a lightweight digger?
The LF is exceptionally well suited for these types of job and the
19 tonne Construction LF has been specially designed for
applications that regularly involve offroad driving. It is
recognisable by its matte black grille, high bumper and sturdy
protective plate to protect the radiator. The high front bumper
enables an approach angle of almost 25°, as well as ground
clearance of 32 centimetres.
What customers think is the best possible
evidence of quality and the LF is welcomed
with great enthusiasm. Everyone who drives it
is convinced immediately. DAF builds trucks so
they can perform — day after day, under the
most demanding circumstances. The LF excels
thanks to its very small turning circle, cab with
comfortable suspension and low unladen
weight, making it the ideal distribution truck
for the construction industry.
20
PAYLOAD The LF, available as a 4x2 rigid and tractor unit, offers plenty of choice in terms of chassis lengths and wheel bases. For rigids
from 7.5 to 12 tonnes, no fewer than eight wheel base variants are available (3.05 m to 5.40 m). The 14 to 16 tonnes category has nine lengths (3.25 m to
6.30 m) and the same applies to the 19 tonne models (3.45 m to 6.25 m). This means all the customisation options are available to you. As a tractor unit,
the LF is available with a wheelbase of 3.13 or 3.50 metres.
INSPECTION With a wide choice of different front and rear axles and final drives, there is an LF tailored for every application. The axles
have been developed to deliver top performance, a long service life and maximum driving comfort. The front axles from 3.6 to 7.5 tonnes have
considerable tolerances to prevent overloading when partial loads are being transported. From the lightest rear axle, the 5 tonne SR 5.10, to the 13 tonne
SR13.39 rear axle for extra payload on the 19 tonne LF, you have plenty of choice to ensure you select the correct rear axle for your specific application.
A differential lock is available as an option on almost all axle variants — for maximum traction and vehicle control, whatever the circumstances.
PERFECT MATCH You can choose from a wide range of engines for the LF. The 4.5 litre PACCAR PX-5 four-cylinder has ratings of
112 kW/152 hp, 135 kW/184 hp and 157 kW/213 hp, with a torque of 580, 700 and 760 Nm respectively. The six-cylinder 6.7 litre PX-7 engine is available
with ratings of 164 kW/223 hp, 186 kW/253 hp, 208 kW/283 hp and 231 kW/314 hp, with torques of 850, 950, 1,020 and 1,100 Nm respectively. The high
torque for all the engines is available from low engine speeds and over a broad speed range; good for excellent performances, low fuel consumption and
maximum driving comfort for the driver.
For optimum returns, the PX-5 and PX-7 engines are specified with a manual five or six-speed gearbox as standard. A manual nine-speed gearbox is
available for the most powerful engines. Needless to say, the PX engines can also be combined with a six-speed AS Tronic automated gearbox or, for
special applications, a fully automatic transmission by Allison.

The CF is available as a rigid or tractor unit in a wide variety of
configurations: 4x2, 6x2, and 8x2. With a steered leading rear axle and/or
trailing rear axle for optimum ease of use in yards and/or manoeuvrability,
but also as 6x4 and 8x4, with a strong, double-driven DAF HR1355T
tandem axle with hub reduction and a technical load capacity of 26 tonnes.
These models are also available, equipped with single reduction SR 1132T
and SR1360T double drive that offer higher payload and lower fuel
consumption. Wheelbases are available from 3,800 mm to 7,100 mm for
rigids and 3,100 mm to 4,550 mm for tractor units. DAF always has the
ideal solution for your specific application.
The CF leads the way when it comes to versatility.
No other truck has so many customisation options,
which is essential for a truck that can be used for so
many different applications. There are almost unlimited
options when choosing wheelbases and axle
configurations and the low unladen weight allows
high payloads to be carried. The excellent driving
performance and high level of comfort also make the
CF the perfect platform for any application in the
construction industry.

RELIABLE Maximum availability and reliability along with low maintenance costs all contribute to your return. There are therefore three engine
variants available for the CF, combined with a range of gearboxes with 8, 9, 12 or 16 gears. With all engines, the high traction is available at low engine speeds
and over a broad speed range. The result is high flexibility, less gear shifting and thus pure driving comfort for the driver.
MX-13 The PACCAR MX-13 was developed to handle the toughest jobs. This engine has ratings of 303 kW/412 hp, 340 kW/462 hp and
375 kW/510 hp, with impressive torques of 2,000, 2,300 and 2,500 Nm respectively. Thanks in part to the increased capacity of the sump, the service interval
for the MX-13 is no less than 150,000 kilometres. In practical terms, that often means just one maintenance visit a year.
PX-7 The PACCAR PX-7 completes the range of engines on offer for the CF. This powerful, quiet and economical engine comes with ratings of
164 kW/223 hp, 186 kW/253 hp, 208 kW/283 hp and 231 kW/314 hp and an accompanying torque of 850, 950, 1,020 and 1,100 Nm. Its low emission values
and noise levels make the PX-7 an attractive choice for intensive distribution transport, which is nice for the driver and pleasant for the environment.
MX-11 Exceptionally well suited for distribution transport and more demanding applications, the PACCAR MX-11 is available in five models. It is
adjusted specifically for distribution transport (210 kW/286 hp, 240 kW/326 hp and 271 kW/369 hp) and for more heavy-duty use (291 kW/396 hp and
320 kW/435 hp). This engine also delivers high maximum torques of 1,200, 1,400, 1,600, 1,900 and 2,100 Nm. The MX-11 engine is again up to 3% more
economical than the already highly efficient MX-13, as well as 180 kilograms lighter. All in all, this means an even greater transport return for you.
MX ENGINE BRAKE The newly developed DAF engine brake, which is available for both the MX-13 and the MX-11, delivers
impressive performance. It delivers more than three quarters of the maximum braking power at just 1,500 rpm. This saves the service brakes, resulting in
less wear and lower maintenance costs.
28
ON/OFF ROAD For rigids with a double-driven tandem axle (6x4 and 8x4), special software is available as an option for the automated
AS Tronic gearbox. This delivers almost uninterrupted traction on the driven wheels, keeping the vehicle moving whatever the surface. The gear shifting
strategy has a very progressive clutch control, with the opportunity to change gears extremely quickly. As a result, the off road mode lets the driver move
off in a very controlled manner on loose surfaces.
POWER TAKE OFF A complete range of engine and gearbox PTOs is essential for a truck with a very diverse range of uses. On the
PACCAR MX engines, DAF supplies the renowned engine PTO with a one o'clock version, with flange or direct mounting and a torque of more than
800 Nm — ideal for driving a concrete mixer. An 11 o'clock version of the engine PTO is also available on the MX-11 engine; this is mounted directly on
the engine and delivers a torque of 250 Nm. Highly suited for light auxiliary drives. You can also choose from a very wide range of gearbox PTOs, which
are perfect for tippers, for example.
WELL-BALANCED DAF's renowned 8 rod tandem axle suspension provides a articulation of 270 mm and unprecedented
stability. The generous articulation of the DAF tandem axle provides maximum traction for your truck off road, as the wheels follow the surface
perfectly. The four-axle vehicles are also equipped with mechanical axle load compensation on the front axles to guarantee equal load distribution
over both axles, reducing the risk of overloading. And the standard cross and inter-axle locks provide an answer for the really demanding jobs.

XF 460 FAK 8X2
THE POWERFUL XF
31
The chassis on the XF gives you the same options and benefits
as the one on the CF. The XF as available as a two, three or
four-axle vehicle, for both rigids and tractor units. It has a
steered front and/or trailing rear axle or a double-driven tandem
axle. The 8x4 FTM is the absolute pinnacle of the XF range; a
heavy transport tractor with three rear axles, of which two are
driven and the first is steered. Suitable for towable weights of up
to 120 tonnes and more.
The XF from DAF. The benchmark for long-
distance transport and demanding applications.
Developed for maximum transport efficiency.
Driven by the 12.9 litre PACCAR MX-13 or the
10.8 litre MX-11 engines for Euro 6. With a
completely flat chassis, an attractive exterior
design and a spacious, comfortable interior.
The best XF ever, for operators and drivers.
32
SAFE Safety for the driver is paramount. The well-designed,
energy-absorbing cabin suspension plays an important role here — just
like in the CF. The ingenious suspension means that the cabin moves
backwards in a controlled manner if there is a rear-end collision.
It remains as intact as possible and is still connected to the chassis.
The driver can use the ignition key to control the truck lighting from the
outside and DAF's unique Night Lock is available, of course; a simple
and effective form of protection against break-ins and burglary.
STYLISH The cabin is the most distinctive feature of a truck
and first impressions are crucial. The stylish cabin on the XF acts as an
attractive business card for your company. As well as its appealing,
modern appearance, the cabin is also extremely functional and close
attention has been paid to robustness and safety. The generous
dimensions guarantee maximum interior space for the driver — the
ideal environment for driving, relaxing and sleeping. The aerodynamic
design of the cabin contributes to a quiet interior and low fuel
consumption.
XF 510 FTM 8X4 33
PLEASANT At a height of just 1.48 m, the cabin floor
guarantees easy access. The stylish interior design has a cosy
appearance, which helps to make life comfortable for the driver.
The latest generation of seats offer excellent seating comfort due to
their with extensive adjustability and optional ventilation. Automatic
Temperature Control (ATC) is available as an option. The interior is also
very easy to clean, with a practical layout. It offers, for example, double
cup holders and an extendable table in the dashboard, a handy bin
next to the driver's seat and extra storage space against the rear wall.
SPACIOUS The XF has plenty of space. The working and
living space of 12.6 m³ and the standing height of 2.25 m in the Super
Space Cab are unrivalled. The storage space is also at the top of its
class — no fewer than 675 litres under the bunk alone, with room for a
spacious drawer fridge that can hold litre bottles upright. The bunks are
definitely just as good as at home, or even better. The lower bunk is no
less than 2.20 metres long and an upper bunk is supplied as standard
in the Space Cab with a sturdy, impact-resistant side, which is ideal if
used as storage space.
34
LOW COSTS The DAF XF Euro 6 offers you low operating costs, which also means low service costs. In part thanks to the increased capacity of
the oil pan, the service intervals for the MX-11 are up to 125,000 kilometres and those for the MX-13 are even up to 150,000 kilometres. In practical terms, that
often means just one maintenance visit a year. The fuel filter and moisture separator are combined in one unit, making maintenance easier. This is why both
engines are also equipped with just one single multibelt.
EFFICIENT Both modern engines comply as efficiently as possible with the strict Euro 6 emission requirements. Intelligent sensors and software
ensure that the engine and the exhaust gas after-treatment work perfectly together for low fuel consumption. For you this means low operating costs per
kilometre. With the new MX-11 engine, the fuel consumption is another 3% lower than the already highly efficient PACCAR MX-13 engine, while the 180 kilogram
weight reduction also increases the payload. This is ideal when every kilogram counts, when transporting sand or gravel, for instance.
POWERFUL The PACCAR MX-13 engine for the XF is available in three variants (303 kW/412 hp/2,000 Nm, 340 kW/462 hp/2,300 Nm and
375 kW/510 hp/2,500 Nm). You can also opt for the MX-11 in its most powerful rating (320 kW/435 hp/2,100 Nm), giving you plenty of choice in terms of rating
and torque for any application. The powerful engine brake in both the MX-13 and the MX-11 engine delivers more than three quarters of its power at just
1,500 rpm. This helps preserve the service brakes, resulting in less wear and lower maintenance costs. The XF comes with a manual 12 or (for demanding
applications) 16 gears as standard. Also available is the automated AS Tronic transmission, again with 12 or 16 gears.

traffic situations better. This also improves safety.
Moreover, a well-trained driver drives his vehicle more
economically. DAF driver training courses teach
drivers to drive between 5 and 10% more
economically and with less damage in the short term.
Permanent savings are between 3 and 5%!
