accommodations.• Holding all students to

same academic standards.

• Referring student to DSS when a disability has been disclosed.

OVER-HELPING IF:• Giving more time on

assignments.• Making accommodation

decisions without DSS forms.

• Giving student a grade he/she do not deserve.

Tips for Success

Strategies for Success– Recommend students use notecards and/or post-it

notes for questions.– Outline key points with Markers/Dry-erase board– Drawing charts, diagrams, visual aids– Focus on engagement, self-awareness, present-

moment thinking– Develop a visual cue that encourages appropriate

behaviors
