Prerequisites
The program consists of (3) weeks of classroom & on road driving segments. for a total of 36 clock hours that are designed to provide the student with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to inspect and to safely operate any passenger car. The program will also equip students with knowledge to drive defensively and safely. Classroom teaching aids consist of power point presentations, DVD video’s and smart board presentations, as well as some lecture time. Law enforcement professionals and others from the field of highway safety will stop by occasionally to share their tips with us.
Classes will be taught year around based upon enrollment minimums being met.
Class days are Monday thru Friday 15 days.
Students may choose to attend from 8am-12:00pm or from 1:00-5pm based upon space available in that time slot.

DRIVER TRAINING
Requirements for this program are that you have at least valid learner’s permit or driver’s license. Otherwise special arrangements must be made with the instructor.

Course Completion
You will learn how to start & warm-up the vehicle. How to read & use the gauges & warning lights. When to use headlights, how to use side and rear view mirrors properly, safe following distances, how to do turn abouts, backing up safely, safe parking techniques, parallel parking, merging into traffic, pulling out into traf-fic, understanding signs, communicating your intentions and more, changing lanes, & passing accident procedures do’s & don’ts and more.
You will learn of the dangers of reduced visibility and driving in bad weather con-ditions.
The seriousness of driving impaired will be stressed as you are taught to evaluate your own physical condition and its rela-tionship to driving safely, do’s and don’ts.
Upon completion of the course a certifi-cate of completion will be awarded.

Flex Schedule
Fall Semester class dates are TBA as we approach our enrollment quota of 20-25 students. Our goal is to schedule the course for 16 Saturdays for (3) hours per day. Could move back & forth between am or pm time slots.
Class Schedule Choices
1. Morning class hours are from 9am to noon.
2. Afternoon class hours are from noon to 3pm.
