DESCRIPTION

MarketMeSuite is the amazing social media marketing platform for small businesses. See who’s talking about topics related to your business both inside and outside of your social network, then engage and convert. We love what we do and have a lot of fun doing it. (This was originally uploaded to my duplicate account "TammyKahnFennell1" but this is the account you should follow me on!)

A brief MMS history and what it means to be a MarketMeSuiter

Tammy: Hey Alan, I have been using this thing called social media for my e-commerce biz… Alan: Social media? I’m a developer. I am not social. Tammy: But it can help you get more business, I’ll show you…

How it began…

Fast Forward 2 Weeks…

Alan: Holy crap, it does work. And I can build something that takes this concept and turns it into software. Tammy: Let’s do it. Alan: High five! *Disclaimer: No actual high five took place.

So we teamed up to build…

A proof of concept.

DeskTweet – Easy Desktop Tweeting

We released TweetBrand

36 cups of coffee, 3 pizzas and 24 hours later….

TweetBrand was similar to DeskTweet, but we figured out a way to brand the link underneath the tweets with a person’s company name. Like this:

People thought it was pretty cool, and they paid for it.

The same week as TweetBrand’s launch, Tammy went into the hospital to bring James into the world. Transcript for text conversation between Alan {in england} and Tammy {in hospital}

But I answered.

Alan: We had our first sale of Tweetbrand! Tammy: That’s great… a little busy. Alan: Oh… well say hi to James for me.

Culture Point: We love this company.

{January 2010} Bill Nunney really gets to show his stuff and MarketMeTweet launches Tweet, Not Suite…

not yet.

MarketMetweet 1.0

Our users have always been vocal. And they wanted more than just “Tweet…”

Enter, MarketMeSuite.

{We went through a Goth phase}

MarketMeSuite 2.0

But what we found was…

We call this our experimental period {We were finding ourselves}

We couldn’t do it all.

So we streamlined. Shut down other app projects.

Focused on MarketMeSuite and decided

to make it even more powerful.

MarketMeSuite 3.0

If this were a movie, it would be a good time to {Cue Photo Montage}

Because a lot happened.

It felt like a lot more living through it, but in a nutshell

Tammy Moves to the UK

Small seed round raised

Adobe Air App release free

Work begins on Inbox For Social

We score Alec Stern as our awesome advisor

Hang on a second… Most of our users are in the USA!

And then we start to think…

So we came to Boston.

{Cambridge, technically}

{Immigration was a blast}

But we made it.

This guy looks like he may have bodies in his freezer.

{Nearly half our team has relocated to be a part of this}

Culture Point: We’d move for this company. {We believe in it that much}

May 2012 we were quite literally born again.

MarketMeSuite, LTD was formed in the USA.

•  Inbox For Social launched

•  Raised $2.25 million

•  Came to Boston {Cambridge}

•  API re-write for a highly scalable platform

•  Pivot from freemium to free trial

2014 Mission: Grow and Scale!

{Second half of 2012 - 2013 in a nutshell}

And that brings us to today.

MarketMeSuite Today!

{Culture Shock}

So what makes MarketMeSuite’s culture?

We hold each other to a high standard.

*On top of the Empire State Building.

And we help each other achieve greatness.

Sometimes we talk funny.

•  Daily standups •  HipChat used heavily •  We like to get “in the

zone”

But we aren’t too loud.

*Look…developers in their natural habitat. Do not sneak up on them as they are easily startled.

No one punches a time clock. You know what you have to do and when it needs to be done.

We believe in autonomy.

We are underdogs. *Meet Brian, Alan’s dog. Also an underdog.

But it doesn’t scare us.

It motivates us. {We never expect anything will come easy. In fact, we expect the opposite.}

We are damn good at what we do.

And we ask for help when we need it.

But we are humble.

We’re obsessed with customer happiness. This means going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure a customer is getting value and wants to recommend us to others.

We love our customers.

We work hard…

*well most of us…

*How we decide who’s getting coffee

But we work smart.

•  We set up simple & robust processes

•  We prioritize

•  We deploy stuff

•  We don’t have time for bureaucracy

{It’s not just a job}

This all works because we love what we do.
