Financial Governance and Disclosure Management
1047Data Collection with IBM Cognos TM1 for Real-time Disclosure Management at PNC Bank
Speaker(s): Ellen Considder, PNC Bank; Jade Cole, AppVine
At PNC Bank, the process of collecting data for disclosures was manually intensive, with almost 100 separate data sources. Already a user of IBM Cognos Financial Statement Reporting (FSR), PNC struggled with the common problem of relying on multiple spreadsheets for data collection and input in a SOX-compliant environment. So, PNC began implementing IBM Cognos TM1 as a pilot project for data collection, aggregation and analysis, targeting specific footnote disclosures. In this session, PNC will discuss the selection criteria they used when looking for a data collection solution, including how the requirements were gathered, the evaluation criteria and the implementation methodology that was adopted.

1074XBRL Best Practices in IBM Cognos Financial Statement Reporting (FSR)
Speaker(s): Rohit Dhumal, IBM
Join this session, led by IBM Lab Services, to learn about the best practices that leading organizations use in their disclosure management processes. You’ll hear about using IBM Cognos Financial Statement Reporting (FSR) to comply with SEC guidelines for filing XBRL reports successfully - with minimal filing errors and less maintenance every quarter. You’ll also learn how you can use Cognos FSR to negate values or change the polarity of values—a major area of concern for the SEC.

1078Clear Channel Communications Takes Control of its Financial Close Management with IBM
Speaker(s): Kevin Wherry, Clear Channel; Anthony D’Ugo, Deloitte & Touche LLP
Today, organizations that outsource their financial statement regulatory filings and XBRL submissions are at the mercy of their service providers to meet regulatory deadlines. The more entities that are involved and the greater the extent of the disclosures, the greater the likelihood of a misstep. Come to this session to learn how Clear Channel Communications sends data from IBM Cognos Controller flowing into IBM Cognos Financial Statement Reporting (FSR) as part of an integrated financial close management solution. You’ll also hear about the Cognos FSR EDGAR engine, and about the benefits that Clear Channel realized from their external disclosure management modernization initiative.

1079Modernizing Finance at Clear Channel Communications
Speaker(s): Brandon Turner, Clear Channel; Anthony D’Ugo, Deloitte and Touche LLP
Faced with a processing, data, systems and talent crunch, executives at Clear Channel Communications charted a path forward to modernize their finance analytics capabilities. Too often, organizations fall into a systems-led approach and constrain their ability to realize true business value even before they start. At this session, you’ll learn the strategies and techniques that Clear Channel used to successfully implement IBM Cognos Business Viewpoint, IBM Cognos TM1, IBM Cognos Business Intelligence, IBM Cognos Controller, and IBM Cognos Financial Statement Reporting (FSR). This project is an ideal example of modernizing finance analytics capabilities using a business-led and technology enabled approach.
