Laser interferometric beam size monitor(Shintake-monitor)

Taikan SUEHARA, ILC-Asia wg4 meeting @ KEK, 2005/7/27

Baseline Layout

2.5m spacing from bend to dump.Edge of the dump is at ~10cm beyond the beam line.

Taikan SUEHARA, ILC-Asia wg4 meeting @ KEK, 2005/7/27

Photons from beam pipe

70~90% of photons (by electrons interacting with pipe)come forward, up to beam energy (1.3GeV)

Taikan SUEHARA, ILC-Asia wg4 meeting @ KEK, 2005/7/27

Photons from beam pipe

No energy dependence for position of detector.

Taikan SUEHARA, ILC-Asia wg4 meeting @ KEK, 2005/7/27

Photons from beam pipe

Spread over beam pipe (signal is focused to center)

Photons from beam pipe

Photons from beam pipe

• Energy spectrum is broad up to 1.3GeV• The rate seems to be very high

(with no collimeter)– 0.7~0.9 photons for 1 collision to pipe

• Position is much spread than signal

Shipping

• Optical table– Returned back to Nittsu because of some probl

em of carry-in (and bad weather)– Retry tomorrow with some attachments

• Other components– Have carried-in in Hongo– Now checking
