Definition: Symbolism means the use of one object or action to

represent some thing else. Or the term symbolism means the systematic use of symbols or pictorial conventions to express an allegorical meaning.

Origin: in France in 19th century

Officially started in 1886 by Jean Moreas when he wrote a book “Manifesto Of symbolist Poetry”
