The Imperial Palace East Gardens

Sensoji Temple – It is a Buddhist temple located in Asakusa. It is Tokyo's oldest temple and one of its most significant

colorful and popular temples. When approaching the temple, visitors first enter through the Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate),

the outer gate of Sensoji Temple and the symbol of Asakusa and the entire city of Tokyo. A shopping street of over 300

meters, called Nakamise, alongside typical Japanese souvenirs & traditional local snacks from the Asakusa area are sold

along the Nakamise. The shopping street has a history of several centuries.

The Imperial Palace East Gardens - In April, 1949 part of the Imperial Household Gardens opened to the public to

become this park. This park is roughly divided into the outer garden featuring the Imperial Palace Front Plaza, the

ingredients. Seaweed, kelp, skipjack festival and so on all over the country can be purchased here.

Dinner at Sushizanmai Restaurant to enjoy Japan famous sashimi and sushi. Traditional Hand-make Sushi is prepared by

Sushi Master one by one. The year’s first auction for tuna in Tsukiji always becomes big news in Japan. Sushizanmai’s

Rikugien Garden

Rikugien Garden - the construction of the park took place between 1695 and 1702 and was headed by Yanagisawa

Yoshiyasu by permission of the fifth shōgun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi and is a typical example of a garden from the Edo

period. The park consists of a small pond, trees, and a hill. The traditional Japanese garden within the park is a tourist

attraction. You may experience the beauty of red maple leaves in Rikugien Garden; however it may not be

Sakurajima Foot Hot Spring - The Sakurajima Yogan Nagisa Park has a 100-metre-long foot hot spring. With Kinko

Bay in front and the magnificent Mount Sakurajima behind, one can feel the energy of mother nature.

Sakurajima Arimura Observatory - Sakurajima is one of Japan's most active volcanoes and the symbol of Kagoshima.

The volcano smokes constantly, and minor eruptions often take place multiple times per day. Located in the middle of

Kagoshima Bay, Sakurajima is the area's most prominent geographic feature, having an elevation of 1117 meters and a

circumference of about 50 kilometers. Before a powerful eruption in 1914, Sakurajima used to be an island in the bay, but

the massive lava flow from that eruption created the volcano's current land connection to the Osumi Peninsula in the east.

The Arimura Observatory gives a view onto Sakurajima's craters from a slight elevation of about 75 meters. (Takes about

Kagoshima Jigen-ji Temple

Kagoshima Jigen-ji Temple – also known as Nozaki Kannon, The Kannon statue enshrined at Jigen-ji Temple is said to

have been carved out by a high priest Gyōki (668-749). According to legend, the temple was completely burnt down by

the soldiers of Miyoshi and Matsunaga in 1565, and the Kanzeon Bosatsu statue miraculously survived. The temple was

rebuilt in 1616 by priest Seigan, and making pilgrimages to Nozaki Kannon became popular circa the Genroku and Hōei

periods (1688 to 1710).This temple fascinates its visitors with its oldest bronze bell with the inscription of the year 1309

on it, the tomb of Nezumikozo, a famous thief, and the wonder of maple Leaves changing colors in the fall. You may

Kochi Castle

Kochi Castle (outside visit ) – Fifteen structures at Kochi Castle, including its tower and the Otemon main gate, have

been designated by the national government as important cultural properties. The castle was originally built in 1603 on the

order of Yamauchi Katsutoyo, lord of the Tosa domain, but was burned down in a massive fire in 1727. The current castle

tower was rebuilt in 1749. Kochi Castle is Japan’s only castle where all the structures constituting its main building have

been preserved.

Hirome Ichiba Market – It is an indoor market. Around 60 stores are packed inside, including grocers selling everything

from fish and meat to fruit, and snacks.

Katsurahama Beach – The beach is one of the most picturesque spots in Kochi Prefecture. Located at the entrance to

Urado Bay, it stretches in an arc between Cape Ryuzu and Cape Ryuo. A deep green pine grove behind the coast, five-

colored beach gravel and the azure ocean chime perfectly with one another like a miniature garden to produce a stunning

landscape. The beach has been known since ancient times as a popular venue for viewing the moon. A bronze statue of

Sakamoto Ryoma, who played a key role in overthrowing the Tokugawa shogunate in the late 19th century, stands on

Cape Ryuzu, situated at the east end of the beach, and faces the raging waves of the Pacific Ocean.

Katsurahama Beach

Katsurahama Beach – The beach is one of the most picturesque spots in Kochi Prefecture. Located at the entrance to

Urado Bay, it stretches in an arc between Cape Ryuzu and Cape Ryuo. A deep green pine grove behind the coast, five-

colored beach gravel and the azure ocean chime perfectly with one another like a miniature garden to produce a stunning

landscape. The beach has been known since ancient times as a popular venue for viewing the moon. A bronze statue of

Sakamoto Ryoma, who played a key role in overthrowing the Tokugawa shogunate in the late 19th century, stands on

Cape Ryuzu, situated at the east end of the beach, and faces the raging waves of the Pacific Ocean.

Kochi Castle (outside visit) – Fifteen structures at Kochi Castle, including its tower and the Otemon main gate, have been

designated by the national government as important cultural properties. The castle was originally built in 1603 on the

order of Yamauchi Katsutoyo, lord of the Tosa domain, but was burned down in a massive fire in 1727. The current castle

tower was rebuilt in 1749. Kochi Castle is Japan’s only castle where all the structures constituting its main building have

been preserved.

Hirome Ichiba Market – It is an indoor market. Around 60 stores are packed inside, including grocers selling everything

from fish and meat to fruit, and snacks.

Chikurin-ji – located in the city of Kochi in Kochi Prefecture, has been known affectionately for centuries as Monju-sama.

This refers to the Bosatsu (Bodhisattva) which in Buddhism presides over wisdom, and thus it attracts peoples veneration

as a temple of learning. Monju-do in the Main Hall has been designated an Important Cultural Property by the Japanese

government. The temple also has many different features including a garden said to have been designed by the noted priest

Muso Soseki, a reminder to visitors of its long history.

Ryugadou

Ryugadou – The Ryuga Cave is a roughly 4-km limestone cave which took approximately 175 million years to form. It is

one of Japan’s best-known limestone caves and designated by the government as a natural monument/historical site. About

a 1-km part of the cave is open to the public and you can view some mysterious scenes there. Near the exit are the remains

of cave-dwelling communities during the prehistoric Yayoi period (from around the mid-3rd century BC to the mid-3rd

century AD). In particular, Yayoi earthenware covered with calcareous sinter, known as “a divine pot,” is extremely rare

and an echo of an ancient world. (This attraction is not recommended for physical challenged & handicapped passengers)
