Message from the PresidentMarty Webb, William & Mary

What an exciting fall we had! The chapter kicked off the year with a Throw Back Tuesday party in September and celebrated Founders’ Day in November with West Georgia, Georgia, and Emory collegians, and with the very entertaining and interesting Susan Hable Smith, Alabama, as our featured speaker. What a treat!

Our interest groups hosted many great events, presenting us with the opportunity to learn, share interests, give back, make new friends, and celebrate our Tri Delta sisterhood! Our two new groups, Food & Wine and Delta Squared, have generated a lot of interest with fun and innovative programs – check them out!

Looking forward, in addition to many interesting spring chapter events and programs, planning is well under way for the 32nd Annual Care Affair, which benefits CURE Childhood Cancer and the Tri Delta Foundation. Mark your calendars for April 18, 2015 at the Atlanta Athletic Club! We need your support! Plan to support the event by attending, making/soliciting silent and live auction donations, and by being an event sponsor and/or soliciting sponsorships! We need everyone’s help and participation!

Delta Nights Annual Ornament Exchange

This serious group of ornament thieves was made up of approximately 35 sisters —and many NEW faces — that gathered at the home of Jessica Pardi, Boston, once again. Appetizers and desserts brought by the sisters who attended were abundant. The star ornament this year was Poseidon. A twist in the game that started last year (bring an auction item or make a donation for Care Affair and get a chance to draw a better number) yielded $140 and 2 auction items for Care Affair!

Delta SquaredOctober 25th Tri Deltas and a few husbands met up for a Walking Ghost Tour and Pub Crawl of Marietta Square, where history and stories were told by our tour guide, along with some real-life tales from business owners themselves —all while enjoying libations at three pit stops in some of the Square’s most haunted establishments! Check out the “orbs” in our group photo...

On Saturday December 13th Delta Squared held the first annual Vintage & Vino fundraiser for Care Affair at Marina Marina, a boutique & antique store, on the Marietta Square. Light appetizers, hors d’oeuvres, and wine was served – along with a store-wide live auction that included donations from local vendors, as well as vintage items donated by booth dealers of Marina Marina.

Day Group Holiday Luncheon & AuctionOnce again this year, Frankie Doughtie, West Georgia, wowed us with her lovely home and exquisite Christmas decorations, as well as setting the tables with REAL Christmas china for over 50 sisters!

The annual lively auction raised funds to support Care Affair, the Tri Delta Foundation, as well as future Day Group events — this year raising over $2,415 — excellent ladies!

2014 Golden Circle MembersThis year, the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter honored eight new Golden Circle Members (50 years since initiation)!

They were presented with a lovely handmade gift made by Bev Feldhaus, Florida State, who has graciously donated these gifts for many years. After the ceremony, all Golden Circle members in attendance were recognized.

Thursday Book Club

Women who are members of the Thursday Book Club held their December meeting at the festively decorated Atlanta Country Club.

The gracious host of this meeting was Helen Heyd, Georgia.

Collegiate Alumnae RelationsThe Collegiate Alumnae Relations committee coordinated a soup and salad study break for the Emory collegians during December final exams.

Thank you to all of the volunteers that donated and delivered — the women were very appreciative!

If you would like to participate in bringing some alumnae cheer to the collegiates, contact the Collegiate Alumnae Relations chairs at collalum-relations@atlantatridelta.com.

as Crescent Fund Chairman for 12 years.

Ashley is a member of the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter, and has served as the 20Somethings Chair as well as the

2014 Woman of the YearMarty was initiated at the Alpha Mu chapter at the College of William and Mary in 1973. While moving around the country for her career, and later her husband’s career, she has had the privilege of belonging to seven different Tri Delta alumnae chapters, and has experienced first-hand the great gift we have been given of lifetime membership in Tri Delta! After moving to Atlanta four years ago, Marty immediately became an active member of the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter, hosted meetings, volunteered for Care Affair, raised money for St. Jude in the Give Thanks walk, served as Vice President, and currently serves as the chapter’s President. Marty has also served Tri Delta as an Alumnae Specialist and Alumnae Resource Specialist in the West Region, and is currently the Alumnae Chapter Development Manager for the South Central Region.
