Some ConceptsFacebook is a social networking website — a gathering spot, to connect with your friends and with your friends friends. Facebook allows you to make new connections who share a common interest, expanding your personal network.

The Twitter site's fundamental question is “what are you doing?” This can be, in its most simplistic form, a one or two word answer, but when developed this is a tool that lends itself to developing understanding and potentially starting collaboration.

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site. Founded in December 2002 and launched in May 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking

(most commonly expanded as "Really Simple Syndication") is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format

Yammer is a microblogging service launched in September 2008. Like Twitter, it allows users to post updates of their activities, follow others' updates and tag content. This is company specific – users with the same email form a group. Facilitates internal discussion.

A blog is a website that allows users to reflect, share opinions, and discuss various topics in the form of an online journal while readers may comment on posts
