KEY POINTS
1. Comfort2. Myth – that oil & gas is cheaper than electricity3. The beauty of it all
3 MAIN FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE RATE OF BODY HEAT LOSS
1. Temperature (Air and Radiant)2. Air movement3. Relative humidity
BODY HEAT LOSS
• The human body heat loss is approximately 400 BTUH (117.3 watts).
• This is broken down as follows:– RADIATION
150 BTUH (44 WATTS)
– CONVECTION150 BTUH (44 WATTS)
– EVAPORATION100 BTUH (29.3 WATTS)
Air is cooled and falls.
Air is warmed and rises.
CONVECTIONThis is the transfer of heat by means of a liquid or a gas, such as air. This is the principle of heat transfer used by such things as electric convection heaters.
EVAPORATION
This is the process by which moisture is changed into vapor.
As the moisture evaporates from a warm surface, heat is removed and the surface is cooled.
An example of ‘cooling’ - stepping out of a hot shower.
RADIATION
• Warmth is radiated directly to cooler objects in the room – people, floors, walls, etc.
• Radiant rays travel in straight lines.• Warm objects radiate more than cold ones.• No drafts are created.
THE Therma·Ray SYSTEM
• Radiant heating and technology combined to provide a Smart solution.
• Improves on previous radiant heating products.• Provides efficiency and comfort to heating.
• Do you really only want warm floors?
• SmartRooms = superior comfort + superb economics
• Here’s why!
• Consistent, comfortable heat throughout each room.
SYSTEM cont’d
• Consistent thermal comfort in every room – floor to ceiling.
