We welcome this new initiative from DECC.One of the most frequent requests madeby our supply chain members is for up todate information dealing with futureprojects in the UKCS. We can expectresources to remain a key challenge andthe more visibility we receive about theseprojects enables the supply chain torespond appropriately.

It is an easy to access site which gives specificproject details including location, type ofdevelopment, timing of the opportunities and anappropriate contact.

It has been developed to provide increasedvisibility to the supply chain and contractingcommunity and to further enhance theinformation available from both the PILOT ShareFair and the PILOT Forward Workplan lists on theFPAL website.

We believe Information on emerging projects anddevelopments is a key tool for the Supply Chainto pinpoint and target potential contracts. It’sthen the task of individual companies to pursuethe opportunities and to offer a “best value”solution.

This online tool provides a real-time look at theoil and gas projects for both new fielddevelopments and decommissioning of redundantfacilities in the UKCS over the next few years.

The UKCS continues to be a vibrant regionfor new project prospects which havesignificant requirements for subseadevelopment. Our subsea industry in theUK is a world leader where our innovationand technology have met challenges on aglobal scale. The opportunities tomaximise recovery and efficiency in theUKCS require our supply chain to beadaptable to the market needs, and theproject information that DECC provides isa valuable tool to allow the supply chainvisibility of the prospects. We stronglyencourage businesses at all levels to takeadvantage of the Pathfinder initiative toexploit opportunities and maximise theirpotential.
