Housekeeping items

The purpose of this meeting is to explain service changes effective Monday, September 2, 2013.

Silence all cell phones.

Be considerate of meeting attendees and COTA staff.

When it is your turn to make a comment or ask a question about COTA’s service changes, remain at your seat and we will call upon you.

Comments and questions are limited to two minutes per person.

Participants are encouraged to complete comment cards.

Ask one question at a time so the appropriate COTA staff member may address your comment.

Timelines

COTA modifies service three times per year.

First Monday of: January May September

September 2013 changes will begin on Monday, September 2.Please note that September 2 is Labor Day and Holiday

(Sunday) schedules will be in effect.

Rich Street and Town Street Realignment

#3 W. Mound/#6 Sullivant (All Days)

Service is realigned to travel two ways on Rich St. west of Downtown.

Westbound service travels south on High St., west on Main St. onto Rich St., north on Grubb St. and west on Town St. following the normal alignment.

Eastbound serviceto Downtown is notaffected.

#14 Harmon/Greenlawn (Weekday)

Service is realigned to travel two ways on Rich St. west of Downtown.

Westbound service travels south on High St., west on Main St. onto Rich St., north on Grubb St. and west on Town St. following the normal alignment.

#1 Cleveland (Weekday)

The trip previously beginning at Northern Lights at 5:19 a.m. now begins at the Westerville Park & Ride at 4:51 a.m.

Trip times are adjusted on the first seven northbound trips to improve transfer connections.

#1 Livingston (Weekday)

Trips previously beginning at Shady Lane and Main St. at 5:39 a.m., 6:38 a.m. and 7:48 a.m. now begin at the Reynoldsburg Park & Ride at 5:30 a.m., 6:32 a.m. and 7:43 a.m.

Trip times are adjusted on the first seven westbound trips to improve transfer connections.

#4 Indianola/Parsons (All Days)

Bus Stop Service Improvement Project.

#6 Mt. Vernon (All Days)

Bus Stop Service Improvement Project around the Ruhl Ave., Gould Rd. and Allegheny Ave. loop.

#7 Neil (All Days)

College Road construction will be completed in the fall of 2013. Alignment will return to normal once completed.

#8 Frebis/Hamilton Ave. (All Days)

Bus Stop Service Improvement Project.

#8 Hamilton Ave. (Weekday)

The first five southbound a.m. trips start at Boardwalk St. and Shapter Ave., rather than Red Robin Rd. and Tamarack Blvd.

The first northbound trip ends at Boardwalk St. and Shapter Ave., rather than Red Robin Rd. and Tamarack Blvd.

The 11 p.m. northbound trip from High and Broad streets ends at Boardwalk St., rather than Red Robin Rd. and Tamarack Blvd.

The southbound trip that previously departed from Red Robin Rd. and Tamarack Blvd. at 11:41 p.m. is discontinued.

#8 Hamilton Ave. (Saturday)

The first two southbound a.m. trips start at Boardwalk St. and Shapter Ave., rather than Red Robin Rd. and Tamarack Blvd.

The last two northbound p.m. trips end at Boardwalk St. and Shapter Ave., rather than Red Robin Rd. and Tamarack Blvd.

#9 Leonard/Brentnell (All Days)

In response to public input and after further analysis the previously proposed realignment near Mock Rd. and Brentnell Ave. will not occur.

#9 Leonard/Brentnell (Saturday)

Frequency is improved to approximately 35 minutes from 50 minutes.

#10 E. Broad (Weekday)

Service is no longer available on Research Rd., and now travels north on Taylor Station Rd. to ARC Industries.

A.M. buses depart Broad and High streets at 6:11 a.m. and 7:46 a.m., and arrive at ARC Industries at 6:47 a.m. and 8:25 a.m.

P.M. buses depart ARC Industries at 3:10 p.m., 3:53 p.m. and 5:50 p.m.

#11 Oak/Bryden (All Days)

Further analysis and public involvement will be conducted before a final decision is reached on the proposed realigning of service from Oak St. to Bryden Rd.

Additional public meetings regarding this proposal will be held in the Oak/Bryden area over the next few months.

#11 Oak/Bryden/St. Clair (Saturday)

Frequency is improved to approximately 40 minutes from 50 minutes.

#15 Grove City (Weekday)

Later evening service is available until 10 p.m. The first southbound trip from Nationwide Blvd. and N. High St. now travels to Parkway Center Dr.

#15 Grove City (Saturday)

Later evening service is available until 10 p.m.

Frequency is improved to approximately 40 minutes from 60 minutes.

#15 Grove City (Sunday)

Later evening service is available until 9 p.m.

#18 Kenny (Weekday)

The trip previously beginning at Sawmill Rd. and Resler Dr. at 7:05 a.m. starts at Walmart at Tuttle Crossing at 6:44 a.m.

The northbound trip previously leaving High and Broad streets at 4:55 p.m. now leaves at 4:53 p.m.

#19 Arlington/Grandview (Weekday)

Additional p.m. trip departing High St. and Main St. at 4:41 p.m.

Additional a.m. trip departing Tremont Rd. and Farleigh Rd. at 6:31 a.m.

Trips departing High St. and Main St. at 3:14 p.m. and 4:14 p.m. now depart 3 minutes earlier.

#21 Night Owl (Weekday)

Thursday evening service is now available.

#222 W. Broad/Casino (Friday and Saturday)

Travel times are modified to improve on-time performance.

Frequency is improved from 30 to 22 minutes.

Travel times are modified to improve on-time performance.

#37 Westerville (Weekday)

The a.m. southbound travel times are modified to improve on-time performance.

#39 New Albany (Weekday)

The second a.m. trip now leaves the New Albany Park & Ride at 7:00 a.m.

#58 Dublin (Weekday)

To relieve overcrowding, an a.m. trip has been added that will leave the Dublin Park & Ride at 7:38 a.m., arriving at the South Terminal at 8:23 a.m.

#61 Kenny (Weekday)

The last a.m. trip now begins at Hayden Run at 7:33 a.m.

Service is realigned to use 9th Ave. in both directions west of Neil.

Service is extended and the line now ends at 3800 Veterans Memorial

Dr. in Hilliard.

A later evening trip is available in both directions.

#92 James/Stelzer (All Days)

Bus Stop Service Improvement Project around the Ruhl Ave., Gould Rd. and Allegheny Ave. loop.

#92 James/Stelzer (Sunday)

Frequency is improved to approximately 33 minutes from 45 minutes.

Last bus will now leave Easton at 7:45 p.m. rather than 7:14 p.m., and northbound the last bus will leave Eastland at 8:18 p.m., rather than 6:54 p.m.

Frequency is improved to approximately 30 minutes from 36 minutes.

#95 Morse/Henderson (Sunday)

Frequency is improved to approximately 30 minutes from 60 minutes.

#96 5th Ave. (Weekday)

Frequency is improved to approximately 35 minutes from 50 minutes.

Seasonal Service will be discontinued after Labor Day, September 2 (Sunday/Holiday Service)

Bus Stop Service Improvement Project

Project Goals:

Optimally space bus stops to balance the need for quick in-vehicle travel time with considerations of the distance that customers must walk to access bus stops.

Improve operational efficiency.

Reduce maintenance costs of underutilized bus stops.

Improve travel times, where possible.

#4 Indianola/Parsons (Local)

#8 Hamilton/Frebis (Local)

#6 Sullivant/Mt. Vernon (Ruhl/Gould/Allegheny loop only)

#92 James/Stelzer (Ruhl/Gould/Allegheny loop only)

#96 E. Fifth Avenue (select stops on E. Fifth Avenue only)

All service will be removed from stops that are removed as a part of this project.

Bus stop changes may also affect lines 9, 12, 16, 29, 34, 81, 83, 87, and 95.

The open public comment period about these changes was from May 31– July 5, 2013.

Ticket/Pass vending machine Lobby hours are no longer extended at the end and beginning of

each month

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station is operational at COTA’s McKinley Avenue facility New buses delivered in 2013 and beyond will be CNG fueled

COTA again offering service to home OSU football games from Crosswoods Park & Ride and Ohio Expo Center

Web site being redesigned to be more friendly for mobile users

COTA’s South and North Terminals Downtown will be undergoing refurbishment to accommodate CNG buses

New Park and Ride proposed near SR 161 and Johnstown Rd.

3 morning and 3 afternoon trips from the Easton Transit Center to the Park and Ride beginning Sept. 2014

New Albany would provide a shuttle to move employees from the Park and Ride to the business park
