THE IDEAOur piece began with concerning ourselves with societies desire for social
constructs. Everyone has it, everyone uses it. Today with social media apps fulfilling social desire is at the tip of everyone’s fingers. The desire to
communicate, connect, liberate, profile, accept, deny, receive and send is all instantaneous. We then designed a real life form of a popular social media
function of click bait, complete with a “gift” for responding to the bait. Once strangers respond to the bait and have sent a text to a specific number, they are given instructions to a hidden show at a specific location and time. The click bait would cause strangers to meet in a singular space together over a secret that would be unleashed to them. These strangers will have to form
bonds and communications to hunt the hidden secret show that will be waiting for them. The secret then asks the strangers to take a
commemorative photo (a common practice among folk on social media) and upload it to popular media app Instagram with the hashtag #secretshow. After the show is complete we will gather data by way of the Instagram
photos that are uploaded with the location and hashtag provided and how many people initially responded to the “post”.
