Jabel Jais

a mountain photography journey through the seasons

Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah is the tallest mountain at 5,700ft or 1900m above sea level. This is in the north-east edge of the desert land with beauti-ful climatic seasons. Now, this mountains are attracted by the adventuress lovers of the UAE.

The place where you can be very close to the sun

When the climate is in a normal condition of 20-30 degree, then the hills and the rods are so visible and beautiful by nature.

This is the road taking to the peak of the mountain. The valley is interesting visual treatment with the artificial curvy road.

Shades of blue is the domi-nating color of the Jebl Jais mountain clusters, and this is happening only when the climate is normal with 20-30 degree of temperature.

The Ras Al Khaima city and the blend of blue sea and blue sky. This is the view of other side of the Jebel Jais Mountains.

Now this mountain peak is welcoming the adventure lov-ers and the families during the best climatic seasons of the na-ture except the harsh summer.

Perhaps mountain goats are ruling this heights and now they are welcoming a new season of WINTER

This is like a watch tower now, this place can introduce the sunset from a height level.

When the climate is head-ing down to below 15 de-gree, then the clouds also moving in our height level.

Winter is floating over the mountains with heavy fog

Thick fog is wafting over through the edge of a moun-tain peak. Heavy wind is blowing from the bottom of the mountain and pushing up the thick fog to the peak.

This is not a volcano. Sun is setting down in the west and the evening color is spreading over the fog.

Winter is the good time to have night camps under the moun-tain and the blue sky. Stars and the wind will be good com-pany for the midnight bar-beque and the party music.

Now, this is the time to say good bye to Winter and wel-come a new season of Summer.

Summer mornings are good in colors and cloudy. Sum-mer temperature in the sea level (1900ft down) is at 40+ degree and here in the peak the temperature stands at 27+ degree in the mornings.

When summer hits the mountain with harsh sunlight and hot rays.

When summer hits the moun-tain with harsh sunlight and hot rays, survival is very diffi-cult even for the desert plants.

Layers of table top hard sur-faces, seems like these moun-tains might had been un-der the sea for long years.

Survival of the existence - Some plants are really challenging the hot temperature. Don’t know whether these plants would be here for next one week

Somewhere in the mid of the mountain heights, could see the farming areas. But the tem-perature of the present season is not suitable for the farming.

All the way the mountain is dry because of the hard sum-mer. Both the rods and the farm fields are dry and burning.

Part of Ras Al Khaima, a mod-ern village and the road in the west valley of the mountains.

Time is almost 8.30 in the morning. Still the sunlight is not touched over the roof of the village. The moun-tain peaks are hiding the di-rect ray falling over the valley.

The majority of the mountain surface is hard stones only, well in layers and layers. Soft surface or gravel surface is very rare in this whole mountain cluster area.

Here is the season comparison of temperature less than 20 degree centigrade and great-er than 40 degree centigrade

A hard road leading to the in-ner areas of the mountain. Here comes a Japan made se-dan from the mountain deep

Hill way to the down valley of the Jebel Jais Mountains.

This is not an old lost temple wall in the background. Both the sides of the hill way is beauti-fully crafted by the nature itself.

Summer is so hard in the val-ley too. Wonderful factor is that the nearby pond has amount of water in stock. Hop-ing that this won’t get dry like how the foreground land got dried in this heavy summer.

An abandoned tree in the area where mining is taking place. Perhaps the valley is protect-ing many histories under the surface. Man is an anxiety ani-mal too, he is always hunting for the past, present and future too. Let this lonely abandoned tree give him a shadow when he feeling to have a short break in his journey of findings…,

. .and here I’’m waiting for the next season..., rain
