S. Bassiano was born in 319 Consecrated as Bishop of Lodi on 31/12/374
he died on 19/01/409.
On the occasion of a terrible plague in 1510 was chosen by Bassanesi as their protector and patron.
The 18/01/1682 was inaugurated in Piazza Libert, Bassano del Grappa, the statue of St. Bassiano
in his pontifical robes blessing with his right hand in the sign of the Trinity and
the left committed to tighten the pastoral.
