Collectors’ Corner Volunteer

Summary: The Collectors' Corner at the Rice Street Library is a trading place for

traders of all school ages. Youth bring in objects they have found in nature and trade for other objects. Traders talk to volunteers about their objects and receive points for their objects and knowledge. Help the next generation understand and appreciate the natural world around them.

Duties: Collectors’ Corner:

Talk with children (traders) about the natural objects they have found

Award points to traders for their objects and knowledge

Facilitate traders in exchanging the objects they found for other objects in the collection

Qualifications: Ability to motivate and effectively communicate with children

Must pass background check

Must be at least 16 years old

Commitment: The Rice Street Library Collectors’ Corner is open Wednesdays 3:30-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:30-2:30 p.m. This opportunity is offered through the Science Museum of Minnesota. Training/Supervision: The Science Museum of Minnesota will schedule an orientation and
