Safety First!

Everyday, we make decisions about safety using our body parts and human senses. Let’s see how some children make decisions that keep them safe during the day!

Todos  los  días,  tomar  decisiones  acerca  de  la  seguridad  u2lizando  partes  de  nuestro  cuerpo  y  los  sen2dos.  Vamos  a  ver  cómo  algunos  niños  a  tomar  decisiones  que  mantenerlos  a  salvo  durante  el  día!  

Morgan uses his hand to turn the water spout to a safe temperature and feels the water before washing his hands.

Morgan  u2liza  su  mano  para  conver2r  el  chorro  de  agua  a  una  temperatura  adecuada  y  se  siente  el  agua  antes  de  lavarse  las  manos.  

Tia decides to ask a parent for help with the stove by using her mouth to speak. She doesn’t want to burn herself.

Tia  decide  pedir  un  padre  en  busca  de  ayuda  con  la  estufa  usando  la  boca  para  hablar.  Ella  no  quiere  que  se  queme.  

The students use their eyes to watch the cross guard so that they know when it is safe to walk.

Los  estudiantes  usan  sus  ojos  para  ver  la  cruz  de  guardia  para  que  sepan  cuándo  es  seguro  para  caminar.  

At recess, Chloe uses her arms to hang safely from the monkey bars. She decides to not jump off or hang from her legs to stay safe.

En el recreo, Chloe utiliza sus brazos para colgar de forma segura desde las barras. Ella decide no saltar ni se cuelgue de sus piernas para mantenerse a salvo.

During cra& time, Isabella uses her fingers to cut safely with scissors. She holds the scissors away from her body.

A&er school, the children use their eyes to look for their parents. They want to make sure that the right person is picking them up.

Después  de  la  escuela,  los  niños  usan  sus  ojos  para  buscar  a  sus  padres.  Ellos  quieren  asegurarse  de  que  la  persona  adecuada  es  recogerlos.  

Jack always decides to put his seat belt on across his chest and waist in case there is a car accident.

Jamal always wears pads to protect his shins when he plays soccer.

Before riding his bike, Omar puts a helmet on his head. This decision protects him if he falls off his bike.

Olivia’s mom helps her use her hands to cut meat at dinner. She decides that it is not safe to use a knife on her own.

La  mamá  de  Olivia  le  ayuda  a  usar  sus  manos  para  cortar  la  carne  en  la  cena.  Ella  decide  que  no  es  seguro  de  usar  un  cuchillo  por  su  cuenta.  

Carly decides to play with large toys when her baby sister is nearby, so that her sister cannot put the toys in her mouth.

Carly  decide  jugar  con  los  juguetes  grandes  cuando  su  hermana  pequeña  está  cerca,  por  lo  que  su  hermana  no  puede  poner  los  juguetes  en  su  boca.  

Anthony uses his arms and legs to pull himself safely up his bunk bed ladder. He decides not to jump onto the top bunk.
