Total ProductionIn 2010, $41.0 million was generated through the county’s agricultural and forestry production sector.

Agricultural Production Greenhouse, nursery, and floriculture production was the largest agricultural commodity, contributing 21.7 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

The second largest was cattle, which contributed 6.8 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

The third largest was corn, which contributed 1.4 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

Forestry ProductionTimberland accounted for 74.7 percent of the surface land in Russell County. Total forestry production contributed 5.0 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

Overall Contributions to Russell CountyRussell County’s agricultural, forestry, and related industries generated 9,884 full- and part-time jobs, representing 53.1 percent of the county’s total workforce (18,621 jobs).
