The Coliseum

Construction began around 70-72 AD. The top level of the Coliseum was completed in 80 AD.

Shows featuring Gladiators and wild animals were shown often here.

Arch of Constantine

The Arch of Constantine is an arch divided in four columns. It is located between the Colosseum and Palatine

Hill.

Circus Maximus

The Circus Maximus is the most massive Chariot Racing Stadium in Ancient Rome. It was first used for

non-public games.

Baths of Caracalla

The Baths of Caracalla were thermae (public baths). This attractions featured public libraries, and many festivities for

people to enjoy.

Via Appia Antica

The Via Appia Antica was one of the first roadways of Rome. This roadway connected Apulia to

Rome. It was named after Appius Claudius Caecus.

Via Sacra

This road was Rome’s main street. It connected many places to and from Rome.

Arch of Titus

The Arch of Titus is arranged in five bays. It is made with Pentelic marble. Metal inscriptions

are displayed throughout the arch.

Palatine Hill

According Roman legend, Romulus and Remus were kept alive by a she-wolf at the Palatine

Hill. The Festival of Lupercal is held here.

Basilica of Maxentius

The Basilica of Maxentius and Basilica of Constantine are the largest buildings of the Forum in Rome. There’s a main nave with

three groin vaults.

House of the Vestal Virgins

Female priestesses lived here to honor Vesta, the god of the hearth. Here the

fire of Vesta was maintained.

The Temple of Castor and Pullux

This artifice was built in honor of the Lake Regillus Battle. Castor

and Pullux were twin sons

of Leda and Jupiter.

Temple of Saturn

Being built inbetween 501 and 498 BC, the Temple of Saturn is one of the oldest

buildings. The Roman Treasury was operated here.

Arch of Septimus Severus

After two successful

raids against the Parthians,

this structure

was built to honor

Severus and his two

sons.

Isola Tibernia

Isola Tibernia is an island that allegedly “heals.” It is shaped like a boat.

There’s a summer film festival hosted here

The PantheonBuilt by

Agrippa, this building is one

of the most reknown

buildings in the world with many other

countries trying to copy this temple. The

sun is the only light source for

it.

Hadrian’s Mausoleum

Hadrian’s Mausoleum was a structure built to honor the death of Hadrian, his wife,

and son. Some tombs were destroyed but it is still a popular location.
