Electricity-Photovoltaic Cells A.K.A Solar Panels

Water- Rain Barrels Structure- Big Windows Heating/Cooling- Reflective Roof Waste- Compost

Our Materials

Takes in sunlight and converts it to a useable form. Each panel can produce from 100-320 Watts.

This source replaces electricity from the electric company.

Usually put up on or around the building.

Photovoltaic Cells A.K.A Solar Panels

Collects rain and can be stored for future use.

This replaces the need for water from the water company.

Generally connected to the gutter to collect rain water better.

Rain Barrels

Windows that take up most of the building to let in more light. Can also help heat the building.

Replaces the need for a lot of light bulbs. Also reduces the need for heating.

Natural Lighting

This is known as a “cool roof” since it reflects the suns rays away from the building to keep it cool.

This reduced the need for air conditioning- use less electricity.

Reflective Roof

Organic materials are put in the composter and broken down into nutrient rich soil.

This can help the plants and reduce the amount of fertilizer needed for plants. Also helps reduce the amount of trash.

Composter

Biomass

Biomass Biomass is a renewable element as long as

we choose to make it one. Biomass is used from trees and other plants

so as long as we replace them it is a renewable energy source.

Biomass works a lot like a coal fired plant.

Biomass It is burned and it heats water and creates

steam to turn a turbine. This movement creates electricty. The only difference is it is a renewable

source.

Hydroelectric power

Using a Water Wheel is a cheap way to create electricity.

Not only is it cheap, but it is highly efficient and green.

It will cost around $1200 to install a water wheel, but it would be highly beneficial.

Water flows over the wheel causing it to spin turbines and create electricity.
