The Michigan State College M ilitary band w ill take no spring tonr thia year, according to Cnrl R. Kuhire an. director of the organisation.
It has been the custom In psst years for the hand to tour tbo various towns of the state daring spring vacation as s piece of constructive advertising for the college, bnt this year short trips will be taken by the outfit on week-enda during the coming spring term.
The band will give a concert some time In May and Is rehearsing some feature numbers with several solos for the occasion. Mr. Kuhlman expects to start In work with a second band which will be composed of beginners on musical Instruments who wish to get practice that will qualify them for the varsity outfit. This idea has never been tried before but will prove profitable In supplying the m ilitary organisation with experienced players Instead of raw material from the freshmen class.
