- Lived in Danvers

- Painted murals (for example the ones in Coburn)

- Also painted portraits

- Did graduate work on murals and portraits at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston

- Attended Massachusetts College of Fine Art, which is a notable school

- Means he was well trained

Small mural in the entrance hall of Coburn

- 1935 Ellery signed up to do work for the WPA

- Part of which was for painting murals for Danvers Town Hall

- Watercolor painting he did of Danvers Town Hall

Was not just an artist, he needed other jobs to pay the bills because he could not support himself as an artist

- Farmer

- Carpenter

- Worked for GE to help the war effort
