- Did graduate work on murals and portraits at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston

- Attended Massachusetts College of Fine Art, which is a notable school

- Means he was well trained

- 1935 Ellery signed up to do work for the WPA

- Part of which was for painting murals for Danvers Town Hall

- Watercolor painting he did of Danvers Town Hall

Was not just an artist, he needed other jobs to pay the bills because he could not support himself as an artist

- Farmer

- Carpenter

- Worked for GE to help the war effort

Mural from 2nd Floor of CoburnThis is the mural on the second floor of Coburn which was painted with oil paint and then painted over

with oil paint. This is the mural which we hope to “restore”
