CLARA’s youth wildlife eco work

A fantastic new play road has been marked out in the area for young children to play on with their bikes as well as the painted on game of hopscotch. This is being used and enjoyed by local children after school and in the holidays. The younger children especially are loving the little road for them to go round on their bikes and trikes.

A bench has been purchased for the adults to sit on whilst the children play. A sign has been designed and produced and put up to state that use of the area is at their own risk and all users must be accompanied by an adult.

We have purchased a number of planters, compost and plants for the children to learn about growing and plants and for all to enjoy as they grow and become colourful. Volunteers of the group have planted these and we have placed them around the site.

We now have somewhere safe for the young people of the area to play and enjoy and it has got them off the roads, which cars regularly drive down, often too fast!

The area looks much more attractive and is used and enjoyed more. Residents can enjoy the colours and watching the plants grow.

We are working on further environmental work in this area, as well as continuing the food growing project we are already working hard on.

We have spent the full £600 allocated.
