• After print quota implemented, printing in fall of 2012 was 3.2M fewer pages than in the fall of 2011 without a quota

• Spring 2014– 39% of students used 0% of allotment– 8% of students used all of their allotment– 32% of entire allotment spent (68% unused)

• While it’s a good idea, the ending goal of ‘going paperless’ or reducing printing is not feasible due to (80):

– Certain departments requiring paper printouts and/or the fact that paper documents are more effective

– To keep documents private / I need to print for my job– Reducing printing may reduce efficiency and work flow– Scholar needs– Paper print-outs are less distracting than laptops

• Paper documents need to be formatted to be filled out and processed electronically (both for faculty and students) – including digital signatures! (40)

• Instead of having this be geared towards printing, let’s find a new way to finance it / option of opt-in, opt-out printing (5)
