REASONS FOR THE FAILURE OF THE REVOLT

The First War Of Indian Independence came to a

tragic end. the main reasons are the following

Traders and intelligentsia kept away from the

revolt

some local rulers supported the British .they

gave all support to the British by giving money

and man power.

About 50% of the soldiers in the British Indian Army were against the revolt.

The British army was well equipped with modern sophisticated weapons. It can easily intercept the country weapons used by the fighters.

After the revolt of 1857 power to rule India was transferred from English East India Company to the direct rule of the British Queen

The revolt brought an end to the Mughal

Dynasty. Bhadur sha II was the last mughal

emperor and he was exiled to Myanmar by the

British.
