RELATIONSHIPS AMONG ORGANISMS: PREDATION,
COMMENSALISM AND PARASITISM
1. PREDATION: a predator captures, kills and eats another animal, which is
the PREY
COMMENSALISM: both animals benefit from this relationship. Birds eat insects
and cleans the cow.
3. PARASITISM: one organism benefits and harms the other. The mosquito sucks blood and carries
diseases. The mosquito is the parasite and the person is the host.
The tick is the parasite and the dog is the host.
INTESTINAL WORMS ARE PARASITES. THE HOSTS ARE PEOPLE OR ANIMALS.
