Quick Access ToolbarProvides easy access to frequently used
commands.Commands are always available, regardless
of task being performed.Contains Save, Undo, Repeat, and print
commands by default, but other commands may be added.

TabsEach tab opens a collection of groups.Tab names are File, Home, Page Layout,
References, Mailings, Review, and View.

RibbonIs the control center in Word.Provides easy, central access to the tasks you
perform while creating a document.Consists of Contextual Tab, Groups, and
Commands.

RulerDisplays at the top edge of the document
window just below the ribbon.If ruler is not displayed, click the “View
Ruler” button at the top of the vertical scroll bar on the left of the screen.

be displayed in the document window.The vertical scroll bar is on the right edge of
the document window; the horizontal scroll bar is at the bottom of the document window.

Help ButtonLocated near the upper-right corner of the
Word window and is displayed as a question mark icon.
When clicked, can help find answers to questions and display information about various topics.

Title BarLocated at the top of the Word screen to the
right of the Quick Access Toolbar.Gives the name of the open document.Contains the minimize, maximize, and close
buttons on the far right.

File Tab (Backstage)The Backstage allows you to access file related
commands, such as those used to open, save, and close documents.
You can view information about your document and perform document management tasks such as attaching the document to an email or restricting what types of changes can be made to the document.
To display the backstage view, click the File Tab.
