This free, noncredit short course is directed to students and faculty from Geology, Geography, Ecology, Anthropology, Soil Science, and other disciplines,

who wish to engage in a discussion of quanitative methods in evaluating environmental and ecological data. Dr. Gavin, Dr. Blaauw, and Dr. Emile-Geay will

talk about the use of charcoal records, ecological niche models, radiocarbon age-modeling, and aggregating proxy information. Together we will explore

multiple ways in which quantitative methods can be used to evaluate environmental and ecological datasets, and the implications for interpretation.
