Conclusions
• Increased rotor tip speeds greatly broaden wet milling capabilities• Practical lower limit for mV achievable via wet milling may be 12-20um
• Potential for additional reduction with reduced rotor/stator clearance
• Potential for additional reduction by operating at flow rates above natural draw
• Particle aspect ratio a key to the extent of additional breakage attainable by increased tip speeds
• Low aspect ratio materials [blocky] see the most additional breakage by increasing tip speed from 23 to 70 m/s compared to high [rod] aspect ratio material (40-60% vs. ~ 0-20% additional breakage respectively)
• Appears that at elevated tip speeds, slurry concentration (and potentially particle/particle impacts) plays a less important role in breakage

Summary
• >55x the energy dissipation at a tip speed of 70m/s
• Droplet disruption up to ~16x more effective than trad. R/S
• Submicron to nano-size droplets are achievable (avg ~0.1-.4µm)
• HV-Emulsifier closes the gap between traditional R/S & HPH
• HV-Emulsifier defines new limits, extending R/S tech. into submicron size reduction
