QUESTIONS FOR YOU

PHIL CONNOLLY

• Did you attend the Summer Workshop?• Do you have scheduled coaches

meetings?• How do you disseminate info to your

club?• Do you have a Code of Conduct for:

Players/Coaches/Parents

• Do you / your parents evaluate your coaches at the end of the season?

• Are your High School Coaches involved with your Club?

• Do you talk to your neighbors and exchange ideas?

• Are you leveraging training with local resources like your HS coaches/3D/Bear Lax/etc.

PARTING THOUGHTS

PEARLS OF WISDOM

• It is all about the players• We don’t always know what we think we

know• It is ok to disagree and try something new• If you have a question – ask• It’s ok to be competitive but we shouldn’t

be competitive operationally

• If you have a problem – get it out on the table

• Just because someone was a good player, doesn’t make he or she a good coach

• No good deed goes unpunished• Rinse and repeat (educate)

Things the NCJLA is Working On• Establishing Conferences• Scheduling & training new schedulers• SIR & Concussion management• Game Rules• Feedback on Officials• Staff Assistance with player registration,

coaches certification• We are not perfect but trying to get better
