How to use Present Simple Tense

1. We use Present Simple Tense for things that are always or generally true.

• The sun rises in the East. • Vegans don’t eat meat. • Ice melts under the sun. • People need oxygen.

2. We use Present Simple Tense for things that we do all the time. They don’t need to be scienti�c but they are the things that we always do.

• I go to school. • She lives in Paris. • We work at Apple. • He loves animals.

3. We use Present Simple Tense for habits or the things that we do regularly.

• She doesn’t smoke. • We visit our grandparents every weekend. • I sometimes go out with my friends. • He reads books every night.

4. We use Present Simple Tense when we talk about �xed plans or schedules.

• The movie starts at seven. • The train leaves at nine. • What time does the plane land? • She arrives home around eight.
