PR-C 19 0’ Plaça de la Font Gran. Taking Carrer de les Escoles (Escoles street), which gently ascends, we leave Germana Pilar and Sant Sebastià streets behind us on our left, soon reaching the Camí de l’Àngel (Path of the Angel). 09’ Ermita de l’Àngel (Chapel of the Angel), 200 m. At the start of the town, beside the mountain, we leave this 17th century chapel behind us on the right. Certain stretches of this path conserve paving stones from the Camí Ral (the old Royal Path). 17’ Crossroads, 290 m. Reaching the BP-1121 road, we follow it up to the right for 150 metres, taking a path off to the right. Indicated by steps, this path leads us close to the Encuny de Sant Lluc. 38’ Coll de Canfranc (Canfranc hill), 420 m. We reach the crest of the Serra de Canfranc, at the foot of the Monastery of Sant Benet. Some 300 m further on, right, is a rope handrail to help less experienced walkers. 53’ Monestir de Sant Benet (Monastery of Sant Benet), 535 m. The path emerges, left, on a bend in the road between Monistrol and Montserrat (BP-1121). Follow the road upwards for about 100m. On the right, beside the Colònia Puig site, take the leafy path leading upwards. 68’ Crossroads, 645 m, with the BP-1103 road from Can Massana to the Monastery of Montserrat. Take the road left for around 800 m. On the right, signposted, are the steps leading back into the forest. 86’ Camí dels Degotalls (“Els Degotalls” path), 710 m. Those preferring can turn off right for 110 m to reach the rock formation Els Degotalls. The Portal de Montserrat path leads off to the left towards the Abbey. 100’ Plaça dels Apòstols, 715 m. The Sanctuary.
