WARNING!
Please read the safety instructions carefully before using the charger.
4. Important safety guidelines and instructions Please read the following instructions carefully to prevent personal injury or damage to charger. If the charger is not installed properly, it might cause hazard. Before you clean or maintain the charger, you must disconnect AC input.
Battery precautions.
Please follow these instructions marked on the battery to reduce the risk of battery explosion
Do not produce sparks or flames around the battery and engine Do not charge those batteries that are not on recommended list such as nickel
cadmium (NiCad), nickel metal hydride (Hi-MH) batteries and so on. Other types of batteries might burst and cause personal injury.
Do not charge a frozen battery Do not work nearby a lead-acid battery. The battery may cause explosive
gases during operation. When you install the charger around the explosive gases, it is necessary to
take safety precautions Do not place the charger under or on the battery. Gas or fluid from the battery
will corrode and damage the charger. Place the charger as far as possible from batteries in a distance of DC cable
length.
Precautions of operating the charger
Do not operate the charger in a confined space. Do not place the charger in a humid environment. When it is installed on a ship
or yacht, make sure it won’t be splashed by water. Do not block the vent. There should be a space at least 6 inches from the vent. It’s strongly recommended to install and operate the charger by a licensed
electrician, especially installing in a caravan or a yacht. Make sure that the socket is connected to the ground. PPT is connected to the
ground through the AC cable and the socket. If the cable is damaged, do not operate the charger.
Pay attention!
Be careful to setting the battery charger. Do not set the battery type Li-Fe if you want to charge the lead-acid battery.
Otherwise your battery will be damaged.

5.Quick guide
5.1. Connect AC input to 85V ~ 265V AC power, and then turn the power switch on the rear panel "POWER SW." The digital LED display will show in a form of scanning, which means the charger is ready for setting
5.2. Press the button "Battery Spec." on the front panel for 3 ~ 5 seconds to enter the battery specifications setting. Select 12V or 24V or 6V as your battery voltage type. Press “Display mode/Confirm” to confirm.
5.3. Functional settings--Press the button “Function/Confirm” for 3~ 5 seconds to enter the setting steps of charging: Step 1---Batteries types setting (Li-Fe, AGM, GEL—voltage settings), after selecting the type of battery, press the button “Display mode/Confirm” to confirm setting. Step 2---Charging current setting (select current to charge), after setting the current, press the button “Display mode/Confirm” to confirm setting. Step 3---Charging timer setting (9 ~ 999 minutes) for timer setting, one press button “Function/Confirm” will reduce 10 minutes each. Long press button ”Function/Confirm” 2 seconds above will speedy reduce, can be recycled setting). After setting timer, press the button “Display mode/Confirm” to confirm setting. NOTE : Setting the unit to 999T will disable the timer function of the charger and enable the charger to be used in automatic function. Each step of settings can see the digital number and LED display on the front panel.
5.4. Connect the charger to the battery. Do not reverse the polarity. During charging, you can press the button “Display mode/Confirm” to monitor the details (battery voltage, charging current, Battery charged percentage, current/hour, charging Time).
5.5. Pressing the” Battery spec./Repair” for 3 ~ 5 second if the Battery needs to be repaired. It will automatically goes into charging stage after 10 minutes repairing time.
5.6. PPT-580 started car engine function: when you needed to start the car engine, connecting the AC input and output cable to the battery. Power on and press "FUNCTION" button about 3 to 5 seconds to enter the function setting mode. Pressing “Display mode” button after the display showed 14.2V. Then press "FUNCTION" about 3 to 5 seconds again when the display showed 10A. This function will be running by cycle, 10 sec. starting the engine and 10 sec. break time. Please wait the next 10 sec. to start the engine again if it is not working.

9.3. Protections:
Reverse polarity protection:
When the positive and negative polarity is reversed, PPT will not operate. It shows "REVE" on digital LED display.
Wrong specification protection:
When the setting is not correct, PPT will not work. For example, if you selected 6V to connect 12V battery, it would show “HI-U” on digital LED display. If you selected 24V to connect 12V battery, it would show “LO-U” on digital LED display.
Over temperature protection
If PPT was running in an extreme hot environment, Or PPT has been running for a long time at full load. It would stop running at 65℃ and show "HI-t" on digital LED display.
The 3 color LED shows red as Faulty if it was under any protection.

11. Trouble shooting
Problems Possible Causes Solutions
Turn the power switch,
on but PPT does not
work
Input voltage is not normal
Check the AC voltage is during
85VAC~260VAC then plug again and
reboot
AC cable may damage Change another good AC cable
AC cable is not connected
well to socket Check and plug again
Connect the battery, but
PPT does not charge,
LED lights red
Battery polarity may be
reversed Connect the correct polarity
Battery settings is not set
correctly
Check the battery specifications then set
again.
Overheating protection
Check if there is something that blocks
the vent, remove it or replace PPT to
another location with good ventilation
Battery voltage is too high or
too low
Check if the battery is damaged, replace
good batteries
Battery is unable to be
fully charged
Charging time is set too
short Reset the charging time
Charge current is too small Please check battery capacity then reset
an appropriate charging current
Fan does not run
Temperature does not reach For consecrating energy, when PPT is
working at small load, fan will not run
Fan broken
Fans has its life expectancy, if PPT has
been using for a long time, fan could be
broken, please contact local dealer or
change it by a license electrician
12. Maintenance and Warranty:
If the charger is being used normally, maintenance is not required. Just wipe the exterior with a damp cloth if dirty. Clean the dust off the fan vent when needed. Make sure when you clean it, the AC cable is unplugged. Comes complete with 1 year RTB (Return To Base) warranty.
