PURPOSE OF THE PLAN INTEGRATION AND WHO IT IMPACTS
• On July 11, 2014 OSPI Bulletin Number 038-14 specified changes in AYP policies and consequences of not making AYP for Schools and Districts. This was triggered by WA State’s loss of the ESEA Flexibility Waiver.
PURPOSE OF THE PLAN INTEGRATION AND WHO IT IMPACTS
• 83 Title I Districts in Step 2 of ESEA-AYP with OSSS Priority and Focus Schools
• Four Title I Districts in Step 1 of ESEA-AYP with OSSS Priority and Focus Schools
CONNECTION TO THE REQUIRED OSSS DISTRICT-LEVEL ACTION PLAN FOR IDENTIFIED PRIORITY AND FOCUS SCHOOLS
• The requirements for ESEA-AYP District Improvement Plans are closely aligned with O.S.S.S. District-Level Action Plans in Indistar®.
• To reduce duplication and fully align the two plans, leaders in OSSS and Title I Division collaborated to integrate the process in Indistar®.
• The following slide illustrates how specific OSSS Indicators align to meet ESEA-AYP requirements.

CONNECTION TO THE REQUIRED OSSS DISTRICT-LEVEL ACTION PLAN FOR IDENTIFIED PRIORITY AND FOCUS SCHOOLS
DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT STEP 1 AND STEP 2 ESEA-AYP EVIDENCE Integrated Action Plan – By May 30, 2015
• Align your ESEA-AYP District Improvement Plan in Indistar®OSSS Indicators that align to meet ESEA-AYP requirements as outlined in the ESEA-AYP Guidance. • P2-C• P3-A • P4-A&B• P7-A&B
DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT STEP 2 ESEA-AYP EVIDENCEDistricts in Step 2 of Improvement:
In addition to Step 1 requirements, districts in Step 2 must take at least one of the following corrective actions consistent with state law. • Institute and fully implement a new curriculum based on
state and local content and academic achievement standards that includes scientifically research-based professional development for all relevant staff.
• Replace LEA personnel who are relevant to the inability of the LEA to make adequate progress.
DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT STEP 2 ESEA-AYP EVIDENCE• Districts will use the “ESEA-AYP Step 2 District Improvement
Plan Checklist” on the main District dashboard under the “Complete forms” tab to designate the component chosen by the team.
DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT STEP 2 ESEA-AYP EVIDENCE• When finished, teams will submit the form under “Submit
Forms/Reports” tab. This can be done either prior to or after the district uploads evidence.
TIMELINE AND REQUIREMENTS
By February 28, 2014 Districts will: • Upload the current ESEA-AYP District Improvement Plan in Indistar®. O.S.S.S. created a folder in Indistar® titled “ESEA-AYP District Improvement Plan 2.28.15” to use when uploading plans. • Districts in Step 2 of AYP must take one corrective action consistent with state law; see the attached document that lists the corrective action and where to input in Indistar® (see highlighted).

HOW TO UPLOAD EVIDENCE
2. A list of folders will appear. To upload evidence, click the “Upload a New File” button at the top of the page.
3. Click the “Browse” button to search your computer for the file you wish to upload. -For the “Title”, name the evidence you’re uploading the indicator code along with the word “evidence” .
