The Cardiff Commercial Property Forum was set up in 2004 as acollective voice for the property sector in the region, acknowledgingthe importance of the capital city as a driver of economic prosperityand investment, not only for the region but for Wales as a whole.
The Forum is always looking for new ways to promote Cardiff, bothinside and outside Wales, which continues to be the key objective.The Forum has also held corporate events at the Dorchester Hotel inLondon in recent years promoting Cardiff to a London based audienceof over 400 occupiers and investors.
The CCPF was actively involved in two events during 2008/9 in TheCardiff Debate and The People in Property Awards. It was the Forum’sthird Cardiff Debate, hosted during a difficult economic time for theproperty sector that proved to be a great success delivering a vigorousdebate to over 190 guests. The panel members were made up of abanker, commercial property developer, transport officer, consultingengineer and local council member each bringing a different insightto some of the most topical and important issues facing the propertymarket in Cardiff today.
Cardiff has experienced major transformation over recent years,emerging as an exciting, vibrant and attractive European capitalcity. The city has clear ambitions to sustain this momentum and topropel itself forward as a premier league European capital over thenext two decades.
Cardiff & Co has been created to help Cardiff realise this vision,by bringing together local stakeholders and the private sector intoa single collaborative agenda to market and promote the city to anational and international audience. The company represents anew approach for the city, a new model of service delivery, basedon strong partnership working and funded through a variety ofpublic and private sector sources and commercially generatedincome.
The company aims to help Cardiff become a top five UK shoppingdestination and a top 10 UK short break destination. It aims to helpthe city improve its position in the top 10 of UK conference cities,grow its reputation as a top 10 UK university city, and importantly,re-position the city and Wales as a high quality and competitiveinward investment location.
